Santa Claus rally bypassed Trinidad and Tobago Exchange stocks on Thursday, leaving the market indies slipping slightly, from Wednesday’s close, with fewer shares changed hands but with a bigger consideration than Wednesday.
The market closed with just 12 securities trading, down from 15 on Wednesday, and ended with prices of four rising, three declining and five remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 120,806 shares for $4,605,847 compared to 163,394 shares for $3,043,696 on Wednesday.
The average trade amounts to 10,067 units at $383,821 versus an average of 9,611 units at $179,041 for each security on Wednesday. Month to date averaged 14,693 shares at $235,145 compared to 14,920 shares at $227,833 on Wednesday. November closed with an average of 18,691 shares for $276,188.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 0.73 points to 1,307.68, the All T&T Index slipped 0.74 points to 1,738.20, while the Cross Listed Index dipped 0.10 points to close at 118.61.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Stocks rising │ First Citizens Bank lost 75 cents to close at $42.50, with an exchange of 10,226 stock units. National Flour added 2 cents, trading 1,000 units at $2.10, Republic Financial Holdings gained $1.04, trading 387 units to settle at $134.99 and Scotiabank rose 35 cents to close at $54.35 after trading 38,359 units.
Stocks declining│ First Caribbean International Bank lost one cent and closed at $7.04, in trading 1,230 shares, JMMB Group lost one cent to ended at $1.99, with 4,099 shares crossing the market and Massy Holdings fell $1 $57 trading just 5 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Ansa McAL traded 18,789 units at $53.50 Grace Kennedy closed at $3.90 trading 63 shares, Trinidad and Tobago NGL ended at $17, with a transfer of 22,207 shares and Trinidad Cement closed at $2.45, with 1,000 units changing hands.
