Modest rally for Trinidad Stock Market

Trading picked up moderately on Wednesday and resulted in declining stocks, just edging out those rising after trading 17 percent more shares, carrying a 24 percent higher value than on Tuesday, at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, 18 securities traded up from 13 on Tuesday, with five stocks rising, six declining and seven ending unchanged. The Composite Index rallied 1.86 points to 1,453.66, the All T&T Index advanced 2.00 points to 2,000.54 and the Cross-Listed Index increased 0.24 points to settle at 121.70.
A total of 574,580 shares traded, for $3,565,415 compared to 492,677 units at $3,192,093 on Tuesday.
An average of 31,921 units traded at $198,079 compared to 37,898 at $245,546 on Tuesday, with trading month to date averaging 21,508 units at $275,477 versus 18,975 units at $294,304. The average trade for November amounts to 35,109 units at $290,897.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
In closing, Agostini’s jumped $3 in closing at a 52 weeks’ high of $27.50 after trading 65 shares, Angostura Holdings finished unchanged at $17.90 after an exchange of two stock units, Ansa McAl declined 49 cents to $59.50, with 160 stocks changing hands. Clico Investment Fund ended at $29, with 1,920 units crossing the market, First Citizens Group fell $1.50 to $55 in an exchange of 1,509 units, FirstCaribbean International Bank popped 4 cents to $6.20 after exchanging 3,070 shares. GraceKennedy lost 8 cents to close at $6.02 while trading 167,500 stocks, Guardian Holdings popped 7 cents to end at $30.40 with an exchange of 3,963 stock units, JMMB Group rose 6 cents in closing at $2.30, with 327,038 units crossing the market. Massy Holdings shed $1.58 to $94 after 476 stock units cleared the market, National Enterprises dropped 7 cents to $3.18 in exchanging 4,000 shares, NCB Financial Group inched 1 cent up to $8.01 in switching ownership of 29,816 stocks. Republic Financial Holdings remained at $138 with the swapping of 5,410 shares, Scotiabank finished unchanged at $65.99 after exchanging 297 stock units, Trinidad & Tobago NGL ended at $18.50 with an exchange of 20,669 units. Trinidad Cement remained at $3.85, closed trading 6,481 stocks, Unilever Caribbean closed at $16.20 after 1,000 stock units changed hands and West Indian Tobacco fell 1 cent to $29.73, trading 1,204 units.
