The Junior Market Index rallied sharply at the close of trading on Friday, following activity in 45 securities compared with 46 on Thursday and ending with prices of 18 advancing, 18 and nine closing unchanged with the volume of stocks traded declined 27 percent, with 57 percent lower value than Thursday, even as MFS Capital Partners topped trading with 4 million shares for just over 47 percent of the volume of stocks traded, with RA Williams closing at a 52 week low.
The market closed with trading of 10,899,363 shares at $12,643,835, well below the 14,892,052 units at $29,081,001 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 242,208 shares at $280,974, moving from 323,740 stocks for $632,196 on Thursday, with the month to date, averaging 196,172 units at $288,287 in line with 191,820 stocks at $288,978 on the previous day, compared against April with an average of 199,273 shares at $488,496.
MFS Capital Partners led trading with 5.14 million shares for 47.2 percent of total volume, followed by Everything Fresh, with 2.04 million stock units for 18.7 percent of the day’s trade and Regency Petroleum with 643,010 stocks for 5.9 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index rose 49.08 points to close at 3,441.44. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 13.5, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
At the close of the market, Access Financial declined 6 cents to finish at $17.18 with a transfer of a mere one share, AMG Packaging lost 10 cents to land at $2.35 with 4,207 stock units changing hands, Atlantic Hardware gained 11 cents to close at 97 cents with investors dealing in 240,100 shares. Cargo Handlers popped 90 cents to end at $11.10 with traders exchanging 3,015 stocks, Caribbean Cream climbed 16 cents in closing at $2.35 with investors trading 549 stock units, Caribbean Flavours rose 21 cents to end at $1.50 with 5,963 shares crossing the market. Derrimon Trading advanced 15 cents in closing at $1.90 with sellers trading 10,000 stocks, Dolphin Cove fell 67 cents to $11.83 with 36,930 units crossing the market, Elite Diagnostic slipped 10 cents and ended at $1.30 with investors trading 4,917 stock units. Everything Fresh shed 6 cents to end at $2.03 as investors exchanged 2,040,760 shares, Future Energy sank 6 cents to finish at $3 as 216,174 stock units changed hands, Indies Pharma rallied 15 cents to close at $3.70 with investors swapping 236 stocks. Iron Rock Insurance increased 91 cents to $3.90 after closing with 24 units changing hands, JFP Ltd slipped 8 cents and ended at 51 cents after traders exchanged 507,052 stocks, KLE Group skidded 18 cents to finish at 92 cents with investors trading a mere 1,371 shares. Lasco Financial popped 6 cents to close at $1.68 in an exchange of 2,643 stock units, Limners and Bards dipped 6 cents to end at $1.10 with traders dealing in 177,599 units, Mailpac Group increased 20 cents in closing at $2.54 after investors exchanged 71,069 stocks. MFS Capital Partners climbed 8 cents to 44 cents as 5,141,586 stock units passed through the market, ONE on ONE Educational rose 7 cents and ended at 90 cents with 6,260 shares switching owners, Regency Petroleum gained 20 cents to close at $3.60 after a transfer of 643,010 stock units and Spur Tree Spices dropped 15 cents to finish at $1.10 with 110,268 shares crossing the exchange.
