Jetcon Corporation jumped to a new 52 weeks low Monday while Derrimon Trading dropped to a new low on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the volume of stocks traded sliding 36 percent, with 45 percent lower value than Friday, following trading in 44 securities, up from 42 on Friday and ending, with prices of 18 rising, 22 declining and four closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 14,700,213 shares for $20,457,438, after falling from 23,106,280 units at $37,269,312 on Friday.
Trading averaged 334,096 shares at $464,942, compared to 550,150 stock units at $887,365 on Friday, with an average of 280,479 shares at $401,436 for July.
Elite Diagnostic led trading with 8.42 million shares for 57.3 percent of total volume followed by EduFocal with 846,703 stock units for 5.8 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 766,266 stocks for 5.2 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index skidded 38.89 points to end at 2,937.81. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 10 stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and six with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 11.4. ICInsider.com compiles the PE ratios, which are derived by dividing the last traded price of a stock by the earnings per share for companies with their fiscal year ending around August 2026.
At the close of trading, Atlantic Hardware gained 5 cents to close at $1.27 with investors dealing in 514,314 units, Cargo Handlers popped 50 cents and ended at $17.50 with 643 stocks changing hands, Caribbean Cream advanced 7 cents to finish at $1.97 with investors swapping 100 shares.
Caribbean Flavours rose 8 cents to end at $1.18 following trading of 3,069 stocks, Consolidated Bakeries dipped 25 cents to end at $1.20 in an exchange of 36 shares, Derrimon Trading lost 19 cents in closing at a 52 weeks low of $1.01 in trading of 766,266 units. Dolphin Cove climbed $1.96 to $12.17 with 2,965 stocks clearing the market, Express Catering rallied by 5 cents to $2 after an exchange of 73,804 stock units, Fosrich slipped 16 cents to end at $1.40 with 195,974 shares crossing the market. GWest Corporation rallied 9 cents to close at 68 cents with a transfer of 4,281 stocks, Image Plus popped 8 cents to finish at $1.20 after an exchange of 414,373 units, Indies Pharma fell 5 cents and ended at $2.70 with 30,043 stock units crossing the market. Jamaican Teas skidded 18 cents to $2.05 after a transfer of 179,270 shares, Jetcon Corporation gained 61 cents to end at a 52 weeks high of $4.04 with 292,552 units passing through the market, Knutsford Express dropped 37 cents to close at $7.10 following an exchange of 2,778 stocks. Lasco Financial shed 13 cents and ended at $1.52 after investorrs dealt in 129,950 stock units, Limners and Bards declined 19 cents to finish at $1 in switching ownership of 91,720 shares,
Lumber Depot fell 6 cents to close at $2.69 as investors exchanged 6,958 stocks. Mailpac Group declined 8 cents to $2.55 with trading of 323,818 stock units, Omni Industries rose 8 cents in closing at 96 cents with 54,835 stock units crossing the exchange, ONE on ONE Educational climbed 6 cents and ended at 81 cents after an exchange of 50,593 shares.
