Winners edged out losers after weak trading activity on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday, following trading in 41 securities, down from 42 on Tuesday and ending, with prices of 19 rising, 15 declining and seven closing unchanged. The volume of stocks traded dropped 39 percent, and the value dipped slightly lower compared to Tuesday.
The market closed with trading of 7,030,458 shares for $13,563,541, after sliding from 11,469,193 units at $14,001,580 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 171,475 shares valued at $330,818, compared with 273,076 stock units at $333,371 on Tuesday and lower than for the month to date, with an average of 401,092 units at $573,991 after falling from 437,441 stock units at $612,485 on the previous day and July, with an average of 280,479 shares at $401,436.
One Great Studio led trading with 1.65 million shares for 23.5 percent of total volume followed by JFP with 1.35 million units for 19.2 percent of the day’s trade and Atlantic Hardware with 600,376 stocks for 8.5 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index advanced 17.66 points to finish at 2,918.71. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows nine stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 11.4.

At the close of trading, Access Financial advanced by $1.95 to $16.95 with investors dealing in an healthy volume of 388,422 stock units, Blue Power slipped 35 cents and ended at $3.15 with 1,186 shares changing hands, Caribbean Assurance Brokers lost 11 cents and settled at $1.13 with 22,436 units crossing the exchange. Caribbean Cream ended at $2.15 following swapping of 72,575 shares, Consolidated Bakeries climbed 19 cents to close at $1.40 with 421 units crossing the market, Dolla Financial dipped 5 cents to end at $2.85 in an exchange of 322,394 stocks. Everything Fresh fell 19 to $1.95 with 45,080 shares crossing the market, Express Catering shed 10 cents to end at $1.90 after trading of 54,279 stock units, Fontana dropped 13 cents to end at $6.10 in switching ownership of 119,405 shares. Future Energy declined 9 cents and stopped at $3.60 after an exchange of 38,489 stocks, Honey Bun skidded 19 cents to close at $6.48 with investors swapping 5,327 units, 
Image Plus rose 5 cents to finish at $1.20 with a transfer of 226,321 stock units. Jamaican Teas fell by 6 cents to $2.10 with 60,000 shares clearing the market, Jetcon Corporation dipped 30 cents in closing at $3.61 as investors exchanged 76,454 stock units, Knutsford Express fell 70 cents and ended at $7.30 with 9,411 stock units changing hands. Lasco Financial skidded 12 cents to close at $1.50 after a transfer of 5,813 units, Lumber Depot gained 9 cents to end at $2.55 with investors trading 4,151 shares, Medical Disposables increased 10 cents to finish at $1.20 with an exchange of 2,145 stock units and Regency Petroleum rallied 12 cents and ended at $4.50 with a transfer of 63,219 units.
