Market activity ended on Wednesday with the volume of shares trading inching higher than Tuesday and leading to a mild rise of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market at the close.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rose 1,026.18 points to 445,055.15, the JSE Main Index rose 582.88 points to 403,071.17 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.73 points to end at 98.15.
A total of 49 securities traded compared to 47 on Tuesday, with 20 rising, 20 declining and nine ending unchanged. The PE Ratio, a measure used in computing appropriate stock values, averages 15.8. The PE ratio for the JSE Main and USD Market closing quotes are based on earnings forecasted by ICInsider.com for companies with financial years ending between the current year and August 2022.
Trading ended with 8,132,722 shares changing hands for $85,190,963 versus 7,552,797 units at $94,059,701 on Tuesday. Wigton Windfarm led trading with 25.7 percent of total volume with a transfer of 2.09 million shares, followed by Mayberry Investments with 13.6 percent for 1.11 million units and Carreras 11.9 percent after an exchange of 968,112 units.
Trading averages 165,974 shares at $1,738,591 versus 160,698 shares at $2,001,270 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 282,402 units at $2,374,994 compared to 340,028 units at $2,689,981 on Tuesday. October averaged 251,350 units at $2,773,208.

At the close, Barita Investments rallied 51 cents to close at $94.50 with the swapping of 4,575 shares, Caribbean Cement advanced $3.99 to $107.90 after clearing the market of 1,997 stocks, Carreras gained 49 cents in closing at $7.99 after exchanging 968,112 units. Eppley rose 50 cents to $37.50 after switching ownership of 852 stock units, Eppley Caribbean Property Fund dropped $5.40 to end at $37.50 in trading 230 stocks, First Rock Capital spiked 41 cents to $12.30, with an exchange of 20,065 shares. GraceKennedy advanced $1.93 to $99.94 in switching ownership of 37,165 units, Guardian Holdings dropped $29.90 to $520 in transferring 129 stock units, Jamaica Broilers rose 70 cents to $28.70 after exchanging 39,741 shares. Jamaica Producers popped $1.75 to $23.75 with 36,398 stock units crossing the market, Jamaica Stock Exchange fell $1.04 to $17.06 in trading 549 stocks, JMMB Group rallied 49 cents in closing at $37.50 after exchanging 79,021 units. Kingston Wharves fell $2.50 to $44.50 with a transfer of 2,649 stocks, Margaritaville shed 45 cents to close at $14.40 in switching ownership of 1,490 stock units, Mayberry Investments popped 50 cents to end at $7 in an exchange of 1,106,140 shares. 
NCB Financial climbed $4.39 to $130.89 with the swapping of 378,991 stocks, Proven Investments advanced $1.34 to close at $32.55 in trading 4,644 units, Sagicor Group increased $3 to $56 with 9,039 shares changing hands. Scotia Group popped 69 cents to end at $36.49 after 10,433 units crossed the market, Supreme Ventures fell 50 cents to $17.50 in trading 36,986 stock units, Victoria Mutual Investments lost 52 cents in closing at $5.75 after exchanging 147,743 units and Wisynco Group dipped 35 cents to $15.80 with 92,947 stocks clearing the market.
In the preference segment, Eppley 7.50% preference shares fell $1.10 to close at $6.50 in an exchange of 853 shares and Productive Business Solutions 9.75% preference shares rose $1 to $81 in trading 239 stock units. In the corporate bond segment, Guardian Holdings 2027 7% traded 3,000,000 units and gained 33 cents to close at $104.24, Jamaica Broilers 6.75% had an exchange of 2,500,000 units but fell 13 cents to $102.52 and Seprod 6.75% ended with trading in 8,500,000, with the price rising $1.24 to $101.24.
