Fosrich grabs 74% of Junior Market trades

Trading activity more than doubled on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, with Fosrich accounting for more than 13 million shares and 74 percent of total volume, resulting in a 152 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, the result of a 239 percent surge in funds passing through the market over trading on Thursday. Similar to trading on Thursday, the market closed with an exchange of just 40 securities and ended with prices of 16 rising, 14 declining and 10 closing unchanged.

The market closed with trading of 17,826,693 shares for $34,669,918, jumping from 7,060,322 stock units at $10,235,382 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 445,667 shares at $866,748 compared with 176,508 stocks for an average of $255,885 on Thursday. Trading for the month to date averaged 194,866 units at $401,743, increasing from 176,219 stocks at $367,170 on the previous day and July with an average of 707,469 shares at $1,699,009.
Fosrich led trading with 13.16 million shares for 73.8 percent of total volume, followed by RA Williams that ended with 1.65 million stocks for 9.3 percent of the day’s trade and One Great Studio, with 1.26 million stock units for 7.1 percent of trading.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index shed 40.74 points to end at 3,402.30, the lowest point for August. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 12.6, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
At the close of the market, Access Financial climbed $1.48 to $18 with investors trading a mere 658 shares, AMG Packaging increased 30 cents in closing at $2.30 after an exchange of 11,549 stocks, Cargo Handlers fell 77 cents to end at $10.58 with investors trading 2,000 units. Dolla Financial fell 7 cents to finish at $2.43 after a transfer of 11,925 shares, Express Catering popped 19 cents and ended at $3.19 with brokers exchanging ownership of 3,500 stock units, Fosrich shed 36 cents to close at $2.30 with traders dealing in 13,158,566 shares. Honey Bun rallied 13 cents to $7.48 with 55,796 units crossing the exchange, Indies Pharma sank 6 cents to close at $3.24 with a transfer of 46,378 stocks, Knutsford Express rose 6 cents to finish at $13.95 with 66 stock units crossing the market. Lasco Financial dropped 12 cents and ended at $1.78 in trading 58,423 shares, Limners and Bards sank 6 cents in closing at 91 cents after an exchange of 59,058 stocks, Lumber Depot advanced 9 cents to end at $2.69 after closing with 16,065 units changing hands. Mailpac Group gained 7 cents in closing at $2.57 with 8,722 stock units crossing the market, One Great Studio popped 7 cents to 42 cents after trading of 1,260,085 shares, ONE on ONE Educational climbed 6 cents to end at 86 cents as 45,050 stocks changed hands. Paramount Trading skidded 11 cents to finish at 69 cents in an exchange of 15,000 units, RA Williams increased 9 cents and ended at 45 cents with investors dealing in 1,654,919 stock units, Regency Petroleum rose 13 cents to close at $4.23 as traders exchanged 84,661 shares and Spur Tree Spices advanced 21 cents to $1.31 with investors trading 251,137 stock units.
