18 JSE stocks up 9 down on Friday

Investors pushed the price of 18 stocks in the overall market up, 9 down, including 10 stocks rising and only 1 declining, from the junior market as two stocks in the main market hit new highs.
The JSE Market Index surged 1,803.62 points to end at 155,871.64. The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 2,017.11 points to close at 173,153.20 and the JSE combined index climbed 1,971.51 points, to close at 166,411.08.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading showed 13 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 4 with lower offers.
At the end of market activities, Cable & Wireless closed at $1.37 after trading 74,150 units, Caribbean Cement traded 9,295 shares and closed at $25, Carreras fell $1.44 with 36,517 units trading to close at $65, the price of 1834 Investments remained unchanged at $1.10 as 23,335 units changed hands. Grace Kennedy jumped $10 in trading 5,070 units, to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $110, Jamaica Producers traded 2,500 shares at $40, Kingston Properties traded 9,795 shares to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $10, Kingston Wharves fell 25 cents and closed with 2,782 shares changing hands at $11.55. Mayberry Investments lost 45 cents with 8,424 shares changing hands at $3.50, National Commercial Bank traded 29,953 shares, to close at $40 after losing 25 cents. Pulse Investment traded 5,600 shares and gained 10 cents to close at $3.20, Radio Jamaica gained 2 cents in trading 73,776 shares at $1.35, Sagicor Group rose 40 cents and ended with 56,021 shares changing hands at $22.90. Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 83,944 shares at $10.12, Scotia Group jumped $1.70 to close at $32.70, while 14,350 units changed hands, Seprod traded 1,343 shares with the price falling 49 cents to $16.50. Sterling Investments closed at $11.95 in the main market with 10,000 shares trading, while the 20,000 shares traded in the US dollar market at 11 US cents. Supreme Ventures closed at $4.87 with 37,960 shares changing hands, after losing 28 cents, Proven Investments lost 3 cents in trading 209,562 shares at 17 US cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share, traded 3,671,900 units at $2.11.
