Trading volume and value declined on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday compared to Tuesday’s levels and resulted in declines in the indices.
The market closed with 16 securities trading of which three stocks gained, four declined while nine closed unchanged after Massy Holding ended at a 52 weeks’ high.
The T&T Composite Index lost 8.60 points to close at 1,479.13. The All T&T Index sank 17.09 points to 1,880.60, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged points to close at 145.99.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 130,180 shares, with a value of $4,139,922, compared to 471,647 units, valued at $6,460,607, from 20 securities on Tuesday.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
Gains| Calypso Micro Index Fund rose 10 cents in trading 120 shares at $15.85, JMMB Group added 5 cents and settled at $2.70, with 19,275 stock units changing hands and Massy Holdings rose 5 cents and ended at a 52 weeks’ high of $61.60, after exchanging 3,623 shares.
Losses| Clico Investments shed 1 cent to close at $27.89, with 3,843 units crossing the exchange, Ansa McAl dropped $4.70 and completed trading of 58,407 stock units at $55.30. Trinidad Cement fell 2 cents to $1.98, with investors trading 2,500 shares and West Indian Tobacco lost 1 cent and settled at $41.19, in swapping 598 shares.
Firm Trades| First Caribbean International Bank completed trading of 500 units at $7.90, Grace Kennedy ended at $3.90, with 5,500 units crossing the exchange, National Enterprises completed trading 40 stock units at $5.50. National Flour settled at $1.36, after swapping of 19,534 shares, One Caribbean Media ended at $8.40, after exchanging 500 shares, Republic Financial closed at $135.50, with investors trading 200 shares. Scotiabank completed trading of 1,289 units at $61.01, Trinidad & Tobago NGL closed trading of 14,221 shares at $23.61 and Unilever Caribbean ended at $22.25 with investors exchanging 30 shares.
