Main Event revenues growing nicely profit stalls.
Overall price movement on the Jamaica Stock Exchange was steadier ahead of the month-end but some stocks recorded notable price movements as the JMMB Group APO remained opened.
Main Event shot into the Junior Market TOP 10 list this week in the number 3 position with a switch to earnings for 2020 fiscal year. The company came under selling pressure recently with profit declining in the July quarter although revenues climbed a strong 29 percent over the outturn for the similar quarter in 2018. The company managed to record a modest increase in its nine months profit with earnings per share of 36 cents. If the growth in revenues maintains the trend for 2019 in 2020 and management controls cost that was out of line in 
2019, then the company should go on to record a strong increase in profit in the 2020 fiscal year that starts this month.
Honey Bun returns to the Junior Market TOP 10 stocks while Caribbean Flavours and Access Financial with an earnings downgrade, following release of the six months results, are out of the IC TOP 10. Over in the main market, Eppley moved in at the expense of Scotia Group with the price climbing to $58.99 on Friday.
The top three Junior Market stocks, continue to be led by Caribbean Producers with projected gains of 237 percent, followed by Iron Rock Insurance with potential gains of 233 percent followed by Main Event with 226 percent.
Radio Jamaica remains the lead stock with projected gains of 176 percent, followed by Carreras in the number two spot with likely gains of 128 percent and Jamaica Broilers with projected growth of 107 percent is next.
The main market, closed the week with the overall PE of 17.8, up from 17.2 and the Junior Market at 12.1 from 11.8, based on current year’s earnings. The PE ratio for Junior Market Top 10 stocks averages 7.8 with the main market PE at 10.7 from 10.8 for the previous week.
The TOP 10 stocks now trade at a discount of 37 percent to the average for Junior Market stocks and main market stocks trade at a discount of 38 percent to the overall market.

Lasco Distributors dipped 30 cents in exchanging 8,838 units at $3.50, Lasco Manufacturing dipped 5 cents trading 7,527 units at $4.90, Limners and Bards closed with a loss of 5 cents at $2.50, in swapping of 302,524 shares, Medical Disposables ended with a loss of 1 cent at $8.09 with 4,549 stock units changing hands. Paramount Trading closed with a loss of 18 cents at $2, after swapping 55,600 shares, Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 65 cents to settle at $11.85 with 2,800 shares crossing the exchange and tTech ended trading with 36,000 shares, after rising 49 cents to end at $6.79.
The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Index eked out a minor gain of 4.01 points to 3,352.17 after trading closed on Wednesday after a near 47 points fall on Tuesday. 
In contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.
Indies Pharma ended with a loss of 1 cent at $3.15 with 20,560 stock units changing hands, Jetcon Corporation lost 26 cents trading 206,970 units in closing at $1.60, Lasco Distributors lost 10 cents with 109,700 shares crossing the exchange to close at $3.80. Lasco Financial closed trading of 46,726 units and gained 21 cents to end at $4.91, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 10 cents and exchanged 230,707 shares at $4.95, Limners and Bards closed 3 cents higher at $2.55, with 78,286 stock units trading. The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market index slipped just 1.72 points to close at 3,404.79 in trading on Thursday as volumes rose 66 percent and value up 95 percent over Thursday’s levels 
The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 93,190 units at $489,550 compared to 89,655 units at $454,422 previously, in contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

Lasco Financial fell 20 cents in trading of 14,363 units at $4.80, Lasco Manufacturing lost 10 cents with 67,212 units changing hands at $5.10, Limners and Bards climbed 14 cents and exchanged 9,719 shares at $2.72, Main Event closed 5 cents higher at $5.75, with 19,900 stock units trading.
