Junior Market rises – Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Index rose 10.62 points to close at 3,362.79 on Thursday as 31 securities changed hands, with 13 rising, 8 declining while 10 remained unchanged.
Trading settled on Thursday with an exchange of 3,125,553 units valued at $7,771,742 compared to 2,463,223 units for $8,312,204 from 28 securities changing hands on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 100,824 units for $250,701 for each security traded, in contrast to 87,972 units for an average of $296,864 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 98,703 units valued at $466,158 and previously 98,564 valued at $480,309. In contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

At the close of the market, Access Financial gained $1 to end at $35 in trading 5,000 shares, AMG Packaging closed trading of 5,000 units and gained 30 cents to end at $2, Blue Power ended market activity exchanging 53,270 shares to close at $7.70 after falling 5 cents. Derrimon Trading climbed 3 cents and exchanged 4,000 shares at $2.48, Elite Diagnostic ended trading with 30,929 shares, after rising 20 cents to end at $5.80, Everything Fresh closed 10 cents higher at $1.25, with 65,418 stock units trading, Express Catering gained 10 cents at $6, trading 25,429 stock units. Fosrich ended trading with 4,060 shares, after rising 3 cents to end at $4.87, Fontana closed trading of 20,733 units and gained 10 cents to close at $7.35, General Accident closed trading of 154,808 units and gained 3 cents to end at $8.03 after trading at a record high of $9. GWest Corporation climbed 6 cents and exchanged 122,251 shares at $1.10, Honey Bun traded 2,665 units and gained 9 cents to end at $6.90, iCreate climbed 6 cents and exchanged 33,028 shares at 72 cents, Iron Rock Insurance shed 35 cents in trading of 8,500 units at $3.60. Lasco Distributors dipped 30 cents in exchanging 8,838 units at $3.50, Lasco Manufacturing dipped 5 cents trading 7,527 units at $4.90, Limners and Bards closed with a loss of 5 cents at $2.50, in swapping of 302,524 shares, Medical Disposables ended with a loss of 1 cent at $8.09 with 4,549 stock units changing hands. Paramount Trading closed with a loss of 18 cents at $2, after swapping 55,600 shares, Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 65 cents to settle at $11.85 with 2,800 shares crossing the exchange and tTech ended trading with 36,000 shares, after rising 49 cents to end at $6.79.
