Barita jumps $10 NCB $5 push AJI to record 530K

Barita Investments jumped $10 to close at $55 following release of third quarter results showing a For the quarter, profit after tax jumped 594 percent to $911 million.  
NCB Financial pushed higher by $4.99 to close at $195 after it hit a high of $201 during the day. Grace jumped $3 to $70, JMMB Group was up at the close by $2 but traded at a record $55.07 before pulling back at the close to $50.
Trading ended with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index surged 8,298.01 points to end at a record close at 530,993.12 and the JSE Index leaped 7,540.72 points to record close of 483,522.32. The JSE Financial Index rose 3.09 points in closing at 130.09 points.
Market activity resulted in 38 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets and leading to 11 securities advancing, 12 declining and 14 trading firm. Trading ended with 32,848,536 units valued $123,106,978 compared to 34,066,074 units valued at $403,962,467 changing hands, from 36 securities on Monday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 29.7 million shares for 91 percent of total main market volume, followed by Carreras with 494,439 stock units for 1.5 percent of total volume and Wisynco Group with 402,978 shares for 1.2 percent of the day’s volume.

JSE AJI leaps 14,744 points to record close

NCB recovers to boost market index to reach new record close.

NCB Financial recovered to close at $190 on Monday and pushed the market to record close after it tumbled on Friday with NCB pulling the overall market down sharply.
Trading ended with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index surged 14,743.84 points to a record close of 522,695.11 and the JSE Index leaped 13,398.28 points to record close at 475,981.60.  The rise in the largest capitalized company on the stock exchange, NCB, pushed the JSE Financial Index by 4.86 percent in closing at 127 points, up 27 percent since the start of March.
Market activity resulted in 36 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets and leading to 10 securities advancing, 15 declining and 9 trading firm. Market activity ended with 34,066,074 units valued $403,962,467 compared to 91,225,711 units valued $1,203,688,593 changing hands, from 41 securities on Friday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 18.7 million shares for 55 percent of total main market volume, followed by JMMB Group 7.5% preference with 7 million stock units for 20.6 percent of total volume, Scotia Group with 5.2 million units for 15 percent of total volume. IC TOP 10 stocks hit record highs

NCB Financial dropped $17 during trading to $173 during Friday’s session

The main market hit a new record on Thursday as the All Jamaica Index the long term resistance at 520,000 points was pierced but the market pulled back on Friday with NCB Financial trading a large volume down at $173, down from $190 it was previously trading.
The Junior Market moved up and down during the week, with Fontana and Elite Diagnostic two TOP 10 listings hitting new record highs during the week. Sygnus Credit Investments in the main market also jumped to a record high during the week.
There was just one change to the TOP 10 lists this past week with Grace Kennedy coming in for Jamaica Broilers in the main market. Junior are now in the upper half of the Junior Market, both are now supported by 2020 earnings that are higher than for the year just ended. Earnings of former TOP 10 listing, Wisynco Group with switch to 2020 fiscal year earnings now sits outside the Top 10 but is still an attraction at number 16, but the stock came under selling pressure this past week.
Junior Market stocks continue to struggle to get investors’ attention. With the market consolidating and the expectation of mostly positive results to the market is poised for a takeoff very soon with the market highly undervalued.
The three most attractive Junior Market stocks are, Caribbean Producers with projected gains of 256 percent, Iron Rock with gains of 243 percent, followed by and AMG Packaging with possible gains of 200 percent.
Radio Jamaica heads the main market with 191 percent potential gains followed by Sterling Investments with expected gains of 165 percent and Sygnus Credit Investments in third spot with the potential to gain 153 percent by March next year.
The main market, closed the week with the overall PE at 15.3 and the Junior Market at 10. The PE ratio for Junior Market Top 10 stocks averages 6.9 and the main market PE 8.8. These levels, point to a big upside for TOP 10 stocks over the next 12 months and Junior Market stocks in particular.
The TOP 10 stocks now trade at an average discount of 31 percent to the average for the Junior Market Top stocks and main market stocks trade at a discount of 42 percent to the overall market.

NCB Financial dropped to $173 from $190 it closed at on Thursday but recovered to at $188 at the close. The fall in which the JSE records at $15.36 did major damage to the market indices on Friday.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed at a new record high on Tuesday, the third record close in three days, but advancing stocks were outgunned by declining ones almost two to one.
JMMB Group traded at a new all-time high of $45 but ended at a record close of $44.99, Sygnus Credit Investments closed trading at an all-time high of $16 and JMMB Group 7.25% preference share ended at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.96.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed at a new record high on Monday, to start July positively after it surged sharply on Friday, as advancing stocks beat out declining ones more than two to one.

Big surprise in IC TOP 10 changes

Sygnus Credit leaps into TOP10.

Sygnus Credit Investments is back in the main market TOP 10 and now sits close to the top, replacing Grace Kennedy that rose to $67 on Friday in a week when the main market closed at another record high.
strong>Sygnus jumped in, based on a switch to earnings for the new fiscal year starting in July.  Junior Market Fontana and Elite Diagnostic are now in the upper half of the Junior Market TOP 10, both are now supported by 2020 earnings that are higher than for the year just ended. Everything Fresh and Main Event eased out of the Junior Market listing. Earnings of Wisynco Group, a former TOP 10 listing, have also been switched to 2020 fiscal year earnings, but with the price having risen strongly this year, potential gains will not be sufficient to put it in the list any time soon.

JSE majors up 23% in 2019 on record close

New record high for the JSE main market.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange arrested the three days of decline with a big jumped to a new record closed on Friday that pushed the market up by a strong 23 percent with half the year ending.
JSE All Jamaican Composite Index leaped 9,055.04 points to a record close of 513,798.00 and the JSE Index advanced 8,228.65 points to 467,896.45.
At the close of trading, the prices of 18 securities advanced, 8 declined and 9 traded firm, as 35 securities traded, similar to Thursday’s level. Market activity ended with 35,425,729 units valued at $129,457,755 trading in contrast to 77,203,790 units valued $218,055,968 on Thursday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 31 million shares for 87 percent of total main market volume, followed by Mayberry Jamaican Equities with 2 million units or 6 percent of total volume and Scotia Group with 344,363 stock units. JMMB Group and Sagicor Group closed trading at an all-time high.
The market closed with average of 1,073,507 units valued at an average of $3,922,962 for each security traded. In contrast to 2,339,509 units for an average of $6,607,757 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,608,485 units valued at $19,605,318 and previously, 1,635,033 units valued at $20,425,473. In contrast, May closed with an average of 2,248,261 units at an average of $12,751,529 for each security traded.

In the main market activity, Barita Investments gained 33 cents and closed at $44.30, in trading 2,251 shares, Caribbean Cement jumped $3.29 to finish at $79.80, with an exchange of 2,194 shares, Grace Kennedy climbed $2 to $67, with 87,592 stock units traded, Jamaica Broilers dropped $1.85 and finished trading 150,960 units at $31.15. Jamaica Stock Exchange climbed $1.40 and ended at $27.50, in exchanging 42,784 shares, JMMB Group gained 70 cents trading 145,312 shares to end at a record close of $40.20, Kingston Wharves declined $1.50 and settled at $66, with an exchange of 9,025 units. Mayberry Jamaica Equities rose 35 cents and ended trading 2,008,623 shares at $11.50, NCB Financial Group advanced $1 to end at $190, with 43,669 units changing hands, PanJam lost 90 cents to settle at $97.10 with 23,780 shares changing hands. Portland JSX ended trading of 73,099 stock units with a gain of $1.05 to close  at $8.55, Pulse Investments rose 29 cents trading 1,000 units in closing at $2.79, Sagicor Group rose $1.05 to end at a record close of $57.05, with  197,070 shares trading. Sagicor Real Estate Fund rose 99 cents to settle at $9.99, with 81,613 stock units trading, Scotia Group gained 50 cents to settle at $57.50, trading 344,363 shares, Seprod declined $2.49 to end trading of 17,650 shares at $47.50, Supreme Ventures added $1 and closed at $28, with an exchange of 175,517 units and Sygnus Credit Investments lost 45 cents to close at $15, with 219,970 units trading.
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 14,600 units valued $24,268 changing hands. Market activity ended with JMMB Group 5.75% settled at US$2, trading 11,000 shares and Productivity Business traded closed at 60 US cents with 3,600 stock units trading. Proven Investments lost 1 cent in trading 208,315 shares to close at 24 US cents and JMMB group 6% USD preference share closed at US$1.04 trading 11,103 shares. The JSE USD Equities Index closed unchanged at 184.13.
