4 days of gains for Junior Market

Stocks rose for the fourth consecutive day on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange when the market index eked a modest rise at the close on Tuesday despite more stocks falling than rising as market activity accounted for 65 percent fewer shares changing hands than on Monday.
Trading ended with 35 stocks changing hands compared to 34 on Monday, with prices of 13 stocks rising, 18 declining and four remaining unchanged.
The Market Index squeezed out a gain of 5.26 points to close at 2,521.33. The average PE is 13.1 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading in 6,501,187 shares for $15,100,161 versus 10,722,538 units at $28,515,368 on Monday. Jamaican Teas controlled 52.3 percent of total volume with 3.40 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 20.3 percent after a transfer of 1.32 million units and Fontana with 8.2 percent market share or 530,841 units.
Trading averaged 185,748 units at $431,433 compared to 315,369 at $838,687 on Monday. November ended with an average of 193,331 units at $566,885.

At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped $2.58 to $19.92 with the trading of a mere 100 shares,  AMG Packaging gained 6 cents to end at $1.65 with an exchange of 1,141 stocks, Blue Power rose 5 cents to $2.60 in an exchange of 7,040 stock units. CAC 2000 shed $2 to  $8 with a transfer of 1,564 shares, Cargo Handlers lost 11 cents to $7.20 with 200 units traded, Caribbean Assurance Brokers advanced 19 cents to $1.91 with an exchange of 500 stocks. Knutsford Express jumped 29 cents to $6 with 1,053 shares traded, Lasco Distributors rose 17 cents to $3.46 with 21,784 stocks changing hands, Lasco Manufacturing closed 2 cents higher at $3.68 in a transfer of 95,410 units. Limners and Bards fell 13 cents to $2.50 with 39,832 stock units traded, Lumber Depot declined 15 cents to $1.20 with 168,882 shares passing through the market, Mailpac Group traded 1,321,705 stocks and slipped 1 cent to $2.20. SSL Venture rose 3 cents to 56 cents with a transfer of  14,628 units, Tropical Battery lost 6 cents to finish at $1.17 with 225,701 shares traded and tTech shed 52 cents to close at $4.08 with 44,599 stock units crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 gained 1 cent to end at $1 with 99,921 stocks changing hands.

Junior Market holds on

Rising stocks squeezed out declining ones at the end of Mondays’ trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange as the market closed out November with the market eking out a modest gain as it ended the month with a small net gain over October’s close as it remained in a narrow trading range from the summer months.
The market closed with a sharply increased volume of 221 percent and valued 247 percent over Friday’s level.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Friday and closed with the prices of 17 stocks rising, 14 declining and three remaining unchanged. Investors traded 10,722,538 shares for $28,515,368 compared to 3,342,645 units at $8,216,185 on Friday. Derrimon Trading led trading with 35.2 percent of the total volume for 3.78 million shares followed by Mailpac Group with 16 percent for 1.72 million units. Tropical Battery with 14.7 percent market share for 1.58 million units and Fontana with 11.3 percent for 1.20 million units changing hands.
The Junior Market Index gained just 2.24 points to settle at 2,516.07, with the average PE Ratio ending at 13.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading averaged 315,369 units at $838,687 in contrast to 95,504 at $234,748 on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade is 193,331 units at $566,885, compared to 187,110 units at $553,030 on Friday. October averaged 230,868 units at $535,509.

Rising & falling Junior Market stocks even

Rising stocks equaled declining ones and helped move the market index of Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market up at the close on Thursday after trading 32 percent fewer shares with a 17 percent fall in value compared to Wednesday.
Trading ended with shares of 32 companies changing hands compared to 38 on Wednesday with an equal number of 15 stocks rising and declining, with two remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 28.32 points to settle at 2,487.75 after trading over the 2,500 points mark in the morning session. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 4,782,100 shares for $19,328,148 versus 7,027,159 units at  $23,247,610 on Wednesday. Fontana led trading with 31.4 percent of the volume in exchanging 1.50 million shares, followed by Jamaican Teas with 21.8 percent for 1.04 million units and Mailpac Group with 18.3 percent after trading 875,012 shares.
Trading averaged 149,441 units at $604,005 in contrast to 184,925 at $611,779 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade is 192,183 units at $570,657, compared to 194,462 units at $568,878 on Wednesday. October averaged 230,868 units at $535,509.

The market index rose to more than 2,556 points within an hour of trading on Wednesday but selling drove the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange down at the close, with the market index dropping nearly 100 points from the day’s peak to finish with a loss for the day of 70.49 points to settle at 2,459.43.
Trading ended with more stocks declining than rising after an exchange of 33 percent more shares than on Tuesday. The market closed with 38 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 17 declining and six remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ends at 12.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Rising stocks edged out declining ones in trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, leading the market close with a moderate gain in the index, with 24 percent more shares exchanged than on Friday.
Trading ended with 37 companies changing hands compared to 31 on Friday and concluded with the prices of 17 stocks rising, prices of 16 falling and four with prices ending unchanged.
The Junior Market Index gained 4.51 points to settle at 2,541.80. The average PE Ratio ends at 12.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Traders exchanged 5,999,938 shares for $21,980,840 compared to 4,844,204 units at $20,370,620 on Friday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 32 percent of total volume for 1.92 million shares, with continued increased interest in the stock, ahead of a three to one stock split that takes effect on Friday. Six weeks high for Junior Market

Junior Market stocks hit their highest point since the second day of October and August 26th when the market index gained 21.49 points to close on Tuesday at 2,561.47, just slightly lower than the 2,564.59 points closing high in July and 2,567.42 at the October high.  
Trading concluded on Tuesday with the market rising after more stocks rose than fell as investors exchanged nine percent more shares than on Monday. The market closed with 30 securities changing hands down from 35 on Monday and ended with the prices of 14 stocks rising, eight declining and eight closed unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed higher on Friday, despite more stocks falling than rising as investors traded 80 percent more shares carrying 91 percent more value than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands, up from 34 on  Thursday and finished with 13 stocks rising, the prices of 15 declining and seven with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 29.75 points to settle at 2,539.03. The average PE Ratio ended at 11.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 3,359,001 shares for $7,739,063 versus 1,860,954 units at $4,046,985 on Thursday. Mailpac Group led trading with 20.6 percent of total volume with a transfer of 690,324 shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 17.9 percent for 601,792 stock units and Limners and Bards with 11 percent market share for 369,298 units.

The majority of stock prices declined on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, leaving the market index with a fall of 15.15 points to settle at 2,509.28 after investors traded 39 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday.
The number of securities trading remained the same as on Wednesday with 34 stocks changing hands and ended with the prices of 10 stocks rising, the prices of 17 declining and seven with prices remaining unchanged.
