At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index jumped 1,421.02 points to end at 201,936.88, the index recorded gains of 21 percent for the year to date. The JSE Market Index climbed 1,270.64 points to finish at a record 184,942.04. The JSE combined index climbed 919.08 points to end at a record 196,996.13, with a gain for the year to date of 24 percent.
At the close with 7,137,871 units valued at $101,431,149 changed hands, compared to 4,593,992 units valued at $80,066,072 changing hands on Thursday. Of the stocks traded, the junior market accounted for 3,219,929 units changing hands, valued at $16,494,089.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 178,088 shares compared to an average of 140,477 units traded on Thursday. The average for the month to date ends at 150,187 shares compared to an average of 122,285 units for the month up to Thursday. Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 60,819 shares, to end at $5.60, JMMB Group traded 500,000 shares and shed 30 cents to close at $13.55. Margaritaville Turks traded 32,220 shares to close at 24.90 US cents after rising by 0.03 cent, Mayberry Investments ended trading 97,155 shares, to close with a rise of 70 cents at at 52 weeks’ high of $5.65, National Commercial Bank ended at $49 with 438,733 shares changing hands.

Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 5,620 units at $10.90, Scotia Group with 126,594 shares changing hands closed at $34, Scotia Investments rose 50 cents with 1,100,891 units changing hands to close at $30.50, Supreme Ventures rose 5 cents to end at $4.85, with 2,000 units changing hands and Proven Investments ordinary share traded 45,900 units at 20.99 US cents, up from 20.5 US cents.

The all Jamaica Composite index of the Jamaica Stock Exchange shot through the 200,000 mark on Wednesday but closed well below the high for the day of 201,692.19, it reached by 10 o’clock after jumping 2,663.70 points. 
In market activity, Berger Paints closed at $5.60 with 5,000 shares trading, Cable & Wireless remained firm in trading 504,500 units to close at 80 cents, Caribbean Cement gained $3.90 in trading 58,311 shares to close at a 52 weeks’ closing high of $35.01, after trading at a 52 weeks’ intraday high of $36.18. Carreras rose 7 cents in exchanging 3,586 shares at $65.98, Ciboney rose 5 cents in exchanging 888,119 shares at 22 cents. Investors traded 47,390 shares of 1834 Investments, to close with a loss of 16 cents at $1.30. Jamaica Broilers lost 18 cents and ended trading with 241,483 units, to close at $14.72. Jamaica Producers closed with a gain of 50 cents at 52 weeks’ closing high of $9 with 205,372 shares changing hands. Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 73,935 shares, to end with a rise of 7 cents at $5.47, JMMB Group rose 15 cents in trading 41,507 shares to close at $13.80, Margaritaville Turks fell 1 cent with 956,505 shares trading, to close at 22.1 US cents. Proven Investments traded 45,332 shares at 18.6 US cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share and closed with 584,634 units changing hands at $2.11, after gaining 4 cents.

Supreme Ventures lost 15 cents and ended at $4.80 with 6,000 units changing hands and JMMB Group 7.50% preference share traded rose 5 cents to close with 133,100 units at $1.05.

The Jamaica Stock exchange main market indices temporarily broke the winning streak with minor declines on Tuesday with the All Jamaica Composite Index slipping 37.23 points to end at 194,885.44. The JSE Market Index lost 33.30 points to finish at a record closing high of 178,324.34.

Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 12,048 units with the price rising 1 cent to $10.26 and Scotia Group rose 29 cents with 16,400 shares changing hands to close at $32.

Trinidad Cement shares jumped sharply by 190 percent to close at $58.50 and pushed the Jamaica Stock Exchange Cross Listed Index by a massive 290 percent to 1,946.35 points up from 499.06 previously. The move also pushed the combined Index and the JSE market index to new record levels.
