Trading jumped sharply at the close of the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, following an exchange of more than 56 million Image Plus Consultants shares that pushed the volume of stocks traded up by 708 percent and the value 499 percent higher than on Monday after trading in 45 securities up from 40 on Monday, with the market closing with prices of 14 rising, 20 declining and 11 closing unchanged.
Investors traded 63,417,243sh ares for $135,258,234 up from 7,848,690 units at $22,598,062 on Monday.
Trading averaged 1,409,272 shares at $3,005,739 up from 196,217 shares at $564,952 on Monday, with a month to date average of 345,350 units at $844,540 compared with 246,636 stock units at $644,016 on the previous day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.
Image Plus Consultants led trading with 56.39 million shares for 88.9 percent of total volume, followed by Fosrich with 1.49 million units for 2.3 percent of the day’s trade and Dolla Financial with 707,867 units for 1.1 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 9.45 points to finish at 3,953.96.

Junior Market inched higher as trading climbs

Declining stocks outpaced risers at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, as the volume and the value of stocks traded jumped 67 percent and 74 percent respectively above Friday’s outturn after trading in 40 securities down from 44 on Friday and ended with 14 rising, 21 declining and five closing unchanged.
Investors traded 7,848,690 shares for $22,598,062 up from 4,686,473 units at $13,003,928 on Friday.
Trading averaged 196,217 shares at $564,952 compared with 106,511 units at $295,544 on Friday, with the month to date, averaging 246,636 units at $644,016 compared to 251,168 stocks at $651,123 on the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.
Dolla Financial led trading with 2.05 million shares for 26.1 percent of total volume, Lasco Manufacturing was next with 1.28 million units for 16.3 percent of the day’s trade and ONE on ONE Educational with 938,946 units for 12 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index popped 7.79 points to end trading at 3,963.41.

Junior Market plunges Friday

Trading plunged on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange into a steep fall on Friday, with a minor slippage in the volume of stocks traded and a 15 percent lower than on Thursday with trading in 44 securities similar to activity on Thursday and ended with the prices of just 11 stocks rising compared with 27 that declined and six closing unchanged.
Investors traded 4,686,473 shares for $13,003,928 compared with 4,727,854 units at $15,265,121 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 106,511 shares at $295,544, compared with 107,451 shares at $346,935 on Thursday with the month to date, averaging 251,168 units at $651,123 compared to 267,041 stock units at $690,139 on the previous day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.
Lumber Depot led trading with 2.01 million shares for 43 percent of total volume followed by Dolla Financial with 485,453 units for 10.4 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 321,913 units for 6.9 percent market share.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange jumped back into the black on Thursday, following a 56.73 points surge in the Market Index to 4,017.12 resulting from a 91 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded after the value plunged 85 percent below Wednesday and ended with 44 securities trading compared to 45 on Wednesday and closed with 23 rising, 13 declining and eight closing unchanged.
Investors traded 4,727,854 shares for $15,265,121 compared to 54,864,891 units at $98,761,702 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 107,451 shares at $346,935, compared with 1,219,220 shares at $2,194,704 on Wednesday with the month to date, averaging 267,041 units at $690,139 compared to 286,710 stock units at $732,439 on the previous day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.

Junior Market trading surges on back of JFP

The volume of stocks traded surged 726 percent with a 510 percent and the value more than on Tuesday Trading closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Wednesday, with 45 securities trading compared with 45 on Tuesday and ended with 17 rising, 22 declining and six closing unchanged.
Trading jumped sharply with JFP Ltd dominating with 51.6 million units of the total of 54,864,891 shares being exchanged for $98,761,702 up from 6,643,595 units at $16,190,340 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 1,219,220 shares at $2,194,704 compared with 147,635 units at $359,785 on Tuesday. Trading month to date averaged 286,710 units at $732,439 compared with 152,213 stocks at $521,535 on the previous day. June averaged 319,230 shares at $854,456.
JFP Ltd led trading with 51.60 million shares for 94.1 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy Source with 1.08 million units for 2 percent of trading and Dolla Financial with 586,609 units for 1.1 percent market share.

Big drop in Junior Market on Tuesday

Trading closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 80 percent and the value 30 percent more than on Monday with securities trading compared similar with the 45 trading on Monday and ended with 15 rising, 22 declining and eight closing unchanged and resulted in a big drop in the Market Index by 69.39 points to 3,950.60.
Investors traded 6,643,595 shares at $16,190,340 up from 3,691,376 units at $12,494,675 on Monday.

Juniors marching slowly higher

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange moved one step closer to taking out January 2023 high as it continues its quiet rally that started since mid March as it added more gains in the market index on Monday, accompanied by a 39 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded, with the value 28 percent lower than on Friday after trading in 45 securities compared with 42 on Friday and ended with 14 rising, 21 declining and 10 closing unchanged.
Investors traded 3,691,376 shares for $12,494,675 compared with 6,035,265 units at $17,244,300 on Friday.
Trading averaged 82,031 shares at $277,659 compared to 143,697 stocks at $410,579 on Friday with a month to date average of 152,985 stock units at $548,796 in comparison to 167,368 shares at $603,757 on the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.
Dolla Financial led trading with 1.07 million shares for 29 percent of total volume followed by ONE on ONE Educational, with 365,478 units for 9.9 percent of the day’s trade and Image Plus Consultants ended with 287,072 units for 7.8 percent market share.

Junior Market jumps into black

Investors pushed the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange index over the 4,000 points mark for the first time since the end of January and moved it back into the black for the first time since, with the market rising 11.6 percent from the low point in February this year at the close, the Junior Market Index rose 27.22 points to close at 4,011.23.
Trading on Friday ended with the volume of stocks traded rising 32 percent valued 27 percent more than Thursday with 42 securities changing hands compared with 44 on Thursday and ended with 18 rising, 11 declining and 13 closing unchanged.
A total of 6,035,265 shares were traded for $17,244,300 compared with 4,560,776 units at $13,565,316 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 143,697 shares at $410,579 up from 103,654 shares at $308,303 on Thursday with the month to date, averaging 167,368 units at $603,757 compared to 172,891 stocks at $648,832 on the previous day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.

Trading declined on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded falling 17 percent, with the value 26 percent lower than on Wednesday as the market consolidates to move higher after trading in 44 securities down from 46 on Wednesday and ended with 22 rising, 16 declining and six closing unchanged. The Junior Market Index traded in the 4,040 points region late in the trading session and ended adding just 3.37 points to conclude trading at 3,984.01, just 2.43 points below the close at the end of 2022 and the highest end of day finish since the start of February this year.
Investors traded 4,560,776 shares for $13,565,316 down from 5,502,698 units at $18,254,039 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 103,654 shares at $308,303 compared with 119,624 shares at $396,827 on Wednesday, with the month to date, averaging 172,891 units at $648,832 compared to 195,291 stock units at $759,003 on the previous day, well below trading in June with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.
ONE on ONE Educational led trading with 865,723 shares for 19 percent of total volume followed by Dolla Financial with 758,319 units for 16.6 percent of the day’s trade and Fosrich with 466,664 units for 10.2 percent market share.

Trading dipped on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Wednesday, with the volume of stocks traded falling 24 percent and the value 26 percent lower than on Tuesday with 46 securities trading compared with 45 on Tuesday and ended with 18 rising, 20 declining and eight closing unchanged and the market index slipping after opening over the 4,000 mark in the early morning session.
Investors traded 5,502,698 shares for $18,254,039 compared with 7,265,809 units at $24,794,866 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 119,624 shares for $396,827 in comparison with 161,462 shares at $550,997 on Tuesday with the month to date, averaging 195,291 units at $759,003 compared with 233,965 stocks at $944,115 on the previous day. June closed with an average of 319,230 units at $854,456.
Fosrich led trading with 904,316 shares for 16.4 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy Source with 782,065 units for 14.2 percent of the day’s trade and JFP Ltd with 614,259 units for 11.2 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index dipped 3.70  points to 3,980.64.
