Trading climbs on the JSE US$ Market

Trading picked up further on the JSE US$ Market on Monday after the number of active securities rose and leading to a 35 percent rise in the volume of stocks changing hands with a value JSE US$ Market that was 700 percent higher than on Friday.
Market activity resulted in six securities changing hands, similar to that on Friday. The market closed with the prices of four stocks rising, one declining and one remained unchanged. Trading ended with 1,287,024, shares with a value of US$713,238 changing hands, in contrast to 955,873 shares with a value of US$89,015 from the trading of six securities on Friday.
At the close, the market advanced 5.08 points to 195.88. The PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13.6 times 2020 earnings.
At the close of market activity, First Rock Capital gained 1 cent trading 677,100 shares and closed at 11 US cents, Proven Investments gained 2.9 cents to close at 25.9 US cents, after transferring 85,697 shares. Sygnus Investments rose one-tenth of a cent to settle at 15.99 US cents, after swapping one stock unit and Trans Jamaican Highway ended at 0.99 US cents, exchanging 106,981 shares.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 5.75% preference share gained 1 cent and ended at $2.01, with 200,000 units changing hands and JMMB Group 6% lost 1 cent to close at 99 US cents trading 217,245 shares.

Trading jumps on JSE US$ market

Trading levels picked up on the JSE US dollar market on Friday, with six times the volume trading on Thursday and leading to a rise in the market advanced by 1.72 points to 190.80.
Market activity resulted in six securities changing hands, up from three on Thursday. The market closed with the prices of three stocks advancing and none declining. Trading ended with 955,873 shares for US$89,015 changing hands, in contrast to 154,355 shares for US$13,028 from the trading five securities on Thursday.
The market closed with the PE ratio of the market at an average of 13.3 times 2020 earnings.
At the close of market activity, First Rock Capital Holdings traded 503,686 shares and rose half a cent to close at 10 US cents, Proven Investments gained half of a cent in trading 37,127 shares and closed at 23 US cents. Sygnus Credit Investments gained 3 cents in exchanging 29,163 units to close at 15.98 US cents and Trans Jamaican Highway ended at 0.99 US cents, after picking up one-tenth of a cent with 370,595 shares changing hands.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 5.75% Preference Share traded 7,500 units at US$2 and JMMB Group 6% exchanged 7,802 stock units in closing at US$1.

Trading drops on JSE US$ market

Trading levels remain low on the JSE US dollar market on Thursday, with less than half of trading activity on Wednesday.
Market activity resulted in three securities changing hands, down from five on Wednesday. The market closed with the prices of two stocks advancing and one remained unchanged. Trading ended with 154,355 shares for US$13,028 changing hands, in contrast to 359,890 shares at US$61,624 from the trading of five securities on Wednesday.
At the close, the market advanced by 2.08 points to 189.08. The PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 12.9 times 2020 earnings.
At the close of market activity, Proven Investments gained half of a cent in trading 53,291 shares in closing at 22.5 US cents, Trans Jamaican Highway picking up one-tenth of a cent and ended at 0.99 US cents, with 100,964 shares changing hands. Investors exchanged 100 units of Equityline Mortgage Investment Corporation preference share at US$1.95.

JSE US$ market index falls

The JSE US dollar Market closed on Tuesday with more decline in the market index as trading volume slipping slightly below Monday level but at a much higher value.
Market activity resulted in only three securities changing hands, with the prices of all three declining. Trading ended with 649,264 shares with a value of US$121,654 changing hands, in contrast to 663,563 units for US$69,954 from trading of four securities on Monday.
At the close, the market fell 1.80 points to 188.99 and the PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13.2 times 2020 earnings.
At the end of trading, Proven Investments lost half a cent, trading 542,918 shares to settle at 22 US cents. Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 12.9 US cents after losing one-tenth of a cent in exchanging 9,756 units and Trans Jamaican Highway shed 0.001 of a cent and ended at 0.98 US of a cent, with 96,590 shares changing hands.

JSE US market closes May up

Jamaica Stock Exchange, US dollar market, closed upon the final trading day of May but lost just over three percent for the month and 16 percent for the year to date.
The US dollar market activity resulted in four securities changing hands, down from six on Thursday and ended with one declining and three stock closing unchanged. Investors traded 105,523 units at US$10,755, in contrast to 232,148 units for US$6,140 on Thursday.

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market remains subdued on Thursday, even as the number of active securities rose over that on Wednesday as the market continues to consolidate.
At the close of market activity, six securities changed hands, down from five on Wednesday. Trading ended with the prices of two stocks rising, one declining and three remaining unchanged. Just 232,148 shares changed hands at US$6,140, in contrast to 253,911 units for US$25,811 on Wednesday.
At the close, the market lost 0.92 points to 189.26 and the PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13.2 times 2020 earnings.
In trading activity, First Rock Capital gained 1 cent and closed at 9 US cents, with 8,584 units changing hands, Margaritaville traded 700 units at 18 US cents, Proven Investments ended at 22.5 US cents, after picking up half a cent after exchanging 13,792 stock units. Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 13 US cents with 857 units crossing the exchange and Trans Jamaican ended at 0.99 US cents after transferring 208,169 shares.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 6% shed 6 cents to close at $1 with an exchange of a mere 46 units.

JSE US$ Market index rises

The Jamaica Stock Exchange, US dollar market, had an increased number of stocks changing hands on Wednesday as overall volume and value trading rose.   
Market activity resulted in five securities changing hands, with three declining and two remained unchanged. The volume of shares traded was 253,911 units with a value of US$25,811, in contrast to 159,533 units for US$23,544 from three securities changing hands on Monday.
At the close, the market gained 2.96 points to 190.18. The PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13 times 2020 earnings.
At the close of trading, First Rock Capital lost 1 cent trading 61,000 shares and closed at 8 US cents, Margaritaville Turks exchanged 23,800 shares at 18 US cents, Proven Investments shed half of a cents to end at 22 US cents after transferring 67,884 shares. Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 13 US cents, with 1,277 units changing hands and Trans Jamaican lost 0.01 of a cent trading 100,000 shares to end at 0.99 US cents.

Trading on the US dollar market of Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with higher volume and value of stocks changing hands than on Friday, but ended with just three securities switching ownership.
Market activity ended, with the price of one stock rising, one declining and one remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in the exchange of 159,533 units with a value of US$23,544, in contrast to 57,581 units for US$12,255 from seven securities changing hands on Friday.
At the close, the market fell by 3.17 points to 187.22. The PE ratio of the US dollar market closed with an average of 13.2 times 2020 earnings.
