Junior Market pulls back from record high

Trading closed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded diving by 59 percent and the value dipping 61 percent lower than on Monday, leading the market into a decline after 43 securities were traded, similar to trading on Tuesday and ended with 14 rising, 23 declining and six closing unchanged.
The Junior Market Index dropped 33.11 points to  4,452.22 after reaching a record intraday high of 4,543.70 within an hour of opening.

Spur Tree Spices led trading with 2.42 million shares for 18.3 percent of total volume, followed by Future Energy Source with 2.33 million units for 17.7 percent of the day’s trade, Elite Diagnostic with 1.90 million units for 14.4 percent market share and Derrimon Trading with 1.05 million units for 7.9 percent market share.
Trading averaged 307,019 shares at $1,692,258 in contrast to 741,497 shares at $4,382,795 on Monday with month to date, averaging 524,258 units at $3,037,526 compared to Monday trades. April closed with an average of 449,923 units at $1,781,786.

Junior Market hits new high on Monday

Trading jumped sharply at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Monday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 201 percent and the value jumping 301 percent higher than on Friday. The market Index to rise 33.71 points to settle at a record close of 4,485.33 after the market hit a record intraday high of 4,523.62 points at the commencement of trading.
Market activity led to 43 securities trading compared to 44 on Friday and ended with 14 rising, 21 declining and eight closing unchanged.

Junior Market 29.8% gains beat 2021

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market hit a new closing high on Friday after ending at record highs for eight of the past nine trading days. At the close, the Junior Market Index climbed 42.27 points to settle at a record close of 4,451.62, up 29.85 percent for the year to date, thus surpassing the 29.7 percent rise for the entire 2021.
Trading ended on Friday with an exchange of 44 securities down from 45 on Thursday and finished with 20 rising, 18 declining and six were unchanged.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange traded at a record high on Thursday, with the Market Index rising 9.79 points to close at over the 4,400 for the first time to settle at 4,409.35 after moving as high as 4,457.02 points in the early trading session. Trading closed with the volume of stocks trading rising 192 percent over Wednesday as the funds chasing stocks rose 280 percent.

Trading closed on Friday with the Junior Market Index climbing 44.79 points to settle at a closing record high of 4,369.94, with four consecutive record closings and ended with a rise of 27.5 percent for the year to date, just two percentage points from the entire year gains in 2021.  
As was the case on Thursday, 44 securities traded on Friday and ended with 22 rising, eight declining and 14 unchanged.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market continues to hit new highs as the market index crossed over the 4,300 points mark in early trading on Tuesday but ended lower as to end at a record closing high of 4,268.73 after recording a gain of 15.47 points at the close.

The Junior Market Index closed with a gain of 36.21 points at 4,246.73 after the index went as high as 4,291.09 in the early morning session as trading picked up on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks rising 17 percent with an 18 percent higher value than on Monday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
Market activity led to 44 securities trading compared to 45 on Monday and ended with 21 rising, 16 declining and seven ended unchanged.
Fosrich traded at a record high of $25 but failed to hold at this level to the end but iCreate ended at a 52 weeks’ closing high.

Gains for Junior Market to start the week

Trading closed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market on Monday, with the volume  f stocks traded declining 61 percent, with 49 percent less value compared to Friday and ended with an equal number of shares rising and declining.
All 45 securities traded on Monday, up from 40 on Friday and ended with 19 rising, 19 declining and seven closing unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index popped 10.58 points to 4,210.52.
The PE Ratio, a measure used in computing appropriate stock values, averages 12.9. The PE ratios of stocks in the chart below are based on earnings forecast by ICInsider.com for companies with financial years ending between August 2022 and August 2023.
Overall, 18,383,140 shares traded for $67,321,969 compared to 46,852,885 units at $132,272,326 on Friday. Mailpac Group led trading with 3.56 million shares for 19.4 percent of total volume followed by Indies Pharma with 3.26 million units for 17.7 percent of the day’s trade, followed by Elite Diagnostic with 2.12 million units for 11.5 percent market share and iCreate ended with 1.56 million units changing hands for 8.5 percent market share.
Trading averaged 408,514 shares at $1,496,044 in contrast to 1,171,322 shares at $3,306,808 on Friday with month to date, averaging 428,060 units at $1,565,445 compared to 431,536 units at $1,577,789 on the previous trading day. March closed with an average of 719,276 units at  $2,636,802.

Elite Diagnostic rose 63 cents to close at $3.20, with 2,117,544 shares clearing the market, Express Catering gained 38 cents to $6.40 in exchanging 568,615 stocks, Fosrich rallied $2.93 to end at a record high of $22.93, with 259,550 units crossing the market. Future Energy Source declined 15 cents in closing at $6 after trading 647,264 stocks, Honey Bun shed 15 cents in ending at $10, after an exchange of 91,534 stock units, iCreate popped 14 cents to close at $1.04 while exchanging 1,563,814 shares. Indies Pharma advanced 20 cents in ending at $3.05 after swapping 3,261,845 units, Iron Rock Insurance dropped 50 cents to $3.20 in exchanging 112,371 units, Lasco Financial fell 10 cents to $3.40 after exchanging 63,566 stock units. Junior Market falls on Tuesday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market slipped at the close on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 26 percent, with a 17 percent fall in the value compared to trading on Monday as all 45 listed securities traded compared to 43 on Monday and ended with 13 rising, 26 declining and six closing unchanged.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index shed 27.63 points to settle at 4,171.59.
The PE Ratio, a measure used to compute appropriate stock values, averages 12.9 for the 2022-23 fiscal year based on ICInsider.com earnings forecast for companies with financial years up to August 2023.
Overall, 10,881,450 shares traded for $41,038,700 compared to 8,658,067 units at $49,169,751 on Monday. Lumber Depot led trading with 2.70 million shares for 24.8 percent of total volume, followed by EduFocal, 1.54 million units for 14.2 percent of the day’s trade and JFP Limited, with 1.34 million units for 12.3 percent market share.
Trading averaged 241,810 shares at $911,971 in contrast to 201,350 shares at $1,143,483 on Monday with the month to date, averaging 313,476 units at $1,444,823 compared to  351,868 units at $1,730,280 on Monday the previous trading day. March closed with an average of 719,276 units at $2,636,802.
