NCB Financial Group trades at $107

NCB Financial (NCB) surged $13 to record high of $107 while trading 26,721 units, as 10 securities gained and pushed the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index by 8,028.94 points to a record close of 313,990.54.
NCB closed with just two offers for stocks placed on the market for sale at the close on Friday for a total of 5,320 shares, an indication that supply is drying up faster that demand for the stock.
Trading in the main and US dollar markets ended with 24 securities changing hands, of which 10 advanced, 7 declined and 7 traded firm.

JSE closes 1,000 points shy of 300,000

The market made another run at the 300,000 mark on the All Jamaican Composite Index on Monday, but fell just under 1,000 points shy, with the index ending at 299,091.16 points as the investors continued their bullish attack on a limited set of stocks.

Main market climbs higher on Thursday

The Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed at a new record high on Thursday, as the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index rose 516.81 points to record close of 295,611.68 and the JSE Index advancing 470.87 points to a record close at 269,335.73.
A total of 21 securities changed hands in the main market, with, 8 advancing, 5 declining with 3,821,978 units valued at $54,648,279. The JSE US Dollar Equities Index advanced 1.65 points to close at 186.63 with 1,000 units trading, valued at US$598.

Scotia helped push the JSE to new record close on Tuesday.

At the close, the main market ended at a new closing high as Scotia Group jumped sharply to $49 at the close.

JSE stocks up 37% for 2017

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange made strong gains in the indices at the close of the week and for September, leading to gains of 37 percent for the year to date.
Trading on Friday was dominated by Berger Paints, jumping $3.57 to $15 at the close and Scotia Group rising $2.89 to end at $48, while Jamaica Producers traded 1.57 million units to be the leading trade.

Scotia Group pushed JSE down – Tuesday

Scotiabank dropped $1.90 and helped put a sharp dent in the indices on Tuesday.

Main market stocks of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, continue to have small differences between the number of winners and losers, but another big fall in the price of Scotia Group shares along with 9 other stocks, pulled the market down on Tuesday as 25 securities changed hands.
The main and the US dollar markets traded 29 securities with 9 advancing and 11 declining based on the last price for the day, with Carreras hitting an intraday high of $13 after the recent 10 to one stock split and ended at new closing high of $12.50.
At the close of market activity, Berger Paints closed at $11.50 with gains of 25 cents trading 47,524 shares, as investors continue to buy above the Ansa Coatings offer price of $10.88. JSE suffers set back in forward move

JMMB Group inching higher on limited supply of stocks.

Large fall in the prices of are Caribbean Cement, Carreras and Scotia Group push the market down appreciably on Thursday and strong gains in PanJam Investment and JMMB Group could only dent the fall.

Scotia Group drops $2

Scotia Group price dropped as nine months results were soft.

Trading picked up on Thursday with value of trading increasing sharply over the low level on Wednesday, but the most prominent stock in the last two weeks, Scotia Group fell in response to lower than expected profits leading to a fall in the market indices.
The number of securities trading ended at 23 compared to 28 on Wednesday but the volume traded rose well ahead of Wednesday’s level at 6,273,419 units versus 2,295,944 units.
At the close of the market the volume of stocks changing hands and prices they last traded at, are Berger Paints exchanging 64,088 shares at $11, Cable and Wireless rising 9 cents, to $1.15 with 151,475 units, Caribbean Cement closing at $27.50 and losing 50 cents with 181,572 shares, Carreras closed at $108 with 20,739 stock units, Grace Kennedy with a loss of 5 cents, to end at $42 trading 1,480,399 shares. Jamaica Broilers dropped $1.05 to $15.75 with 696,244 shares, with investors reacting negatively to lower profit in the first quarter to July, with Net Profit from continuing operations coming in at $212.6 million versus $401.3 million. Jamaica Stock Exchange gained 2 cents to close at $6.51 with 288,079 shares, followed by JMMB Group that closed at $21.20, with a loss of 30 cents in exchanging 44,432 shares.
