Six stocks rise two fall on TTSE

Market activity ended on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising moderately and the value 35 percent more than on Tuesday, resulting in the trading of 19 securities compared to 21 on Tuesday, with prices of six stocks rising, two declining and 11 remaining unchanged.

Investors swapped 578,666 shares for $4,714,091 up from 564,321 units at $3,506,224 on Tuesday. An average of 30,456 units were traded at $248,110 compared to 26,872 shares at $166,963 on Tuesday, with trading month to date averaging 28,004 units at $185,866 versus 27,406 units at $170,704 on the previous trading day. The average trade for August was 40,829 units at $378,385.
The Composite Index popped 3.79 points to 1,366.94, the All T&T Index climbed 4.03 points to 2,035.07 and the Cross-Listed Index rose 0.49 points to settle at 91.26.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and none with lower offers.
At the close, Agostini’s climbed $3.15 to $45.65 with an exchange of 1,244 shares, Angostura Holdings remained at $26.50 with the swapping of 15 stock units, Calypso Macro Investment Fund popped $1.20 to close at $22 in exchanging 6 units. Clico Investment Fund ended at $30 in an exchange of 66,610 stocks, First Citizens Group ended at $50.61 after a transfer of 666 stocks, FirstCaribbean International Bank ended at $5.01 in switching ownership of 314,577 shares. GraceKennedy rallied 6 cents to $5.35 in trading 50 units, JMMB Group closed at $2.30, with 111,674 stock units crossing the market, Massy Holdings ended at $4.74 as investors exchanged 17,603 stocks. National Enterprises closed at $3.46 after 15,934 shares crossed the exchange, NCB Financial Group gained 9 cents to end at $4.99, with 30,000 stock units clearing the market, One Caribbean Media traded 5 units at $4. Prestige Holdings rose 9 cents in ending at $5.80, with an exchange of 890 shares, Republic Financial Holdings ended at $140 with investors transferring 764 stocks, Scotiabank remained at $78.40 with a transfer of 700 units. Trinidad & Tobago NGL advanced 26 cents to $22.10 after trading 11,586 stock units, Trinidad Cement slipped 1 cent to $3.50, with 1,124 stock units changing hands, Unilever Caribbean dipped 30 cents to close at $12.30 and finished with 824 stocks changing hands and West Indian Tobacco remained at $23.40 after exchanging 4,394 shares.
