Carib Producers ownership switch

AS Bryden acquired a 44.5 percent holding in Caribbean Producers with the trade put through on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Tuesday and swelling the volume traded on the market to 496,133,361 shares totalling $5,190,393,912 compared with just 4,667,318 units at $32,767,188 on Monday.
The market closed with trading in 55 securities compared to 54 on Monday, with prices of 17 rising, 18 declining and 20 ending unchanged.
Trading averaged 9,020,607 shares at $94,370,798 compared to 86,432 units at $606,800 on Monday and month to date, trading averaged 1,637,128 units at $16,504,401 compared to 127,495 units at $583,763 on the previous day and June that closed with an average of 246,425 units at $1,945,941.
Caribbean Producers led trading with 492.77 million shares valued at $5.2 billion for 99.3 percent of total volume followed by Transjamaican Highway with 1.49 million stocks for 0.3 percent of the day’s trade and Wigton Windfarm with 798,214 units for 0.2 percent market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index increased 58.72 points to finish at 357,352.14, the JSE Main Index lost 315.16 points to wrap up trading at 318,271.26 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.18 points to conclude trading at 66.88.
The Main Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 14.2. The JSE Main and USD Market PE ratios are based on the last traded prices and earnings forecasts by ICInsider.com for companies with the financial year ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 11 stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
At the close of trading, Caribbean Cement dropped 89 cents to $64, with 10,325 shares being traded, Caribbean Producers gained 53 cents to end at $10.73 after 492,769,160 stock units or nearly half of the issued shares changed owners, Eppley popped 40 cents to close at $36.50 after an exchange of 5,537 stocks. Eppley Caribbean Property Fund shed $2.94 to close at $37.06, with 1,070 units changing hands, General Accident sank 40 cents and ended at $6.30 with 404 stocks being traded, GraceKennedy dropped $1 to finish at $73 with traders dealing in 9,903 units. Guardian Holdings fell $13.99 to $346 in switching ownership of 34 shares, Jamaica Broilers lost $1.57 to end at $33.93 after an exchange of 11,270 stock units, JMMB Group increased 90 cents in closing at $24, with 11,959 shares crossing the market. Massy Holdings skidded $2 and ended at $86 in swapping 415 stock units, Proven Investments shed 50 cents to close at $19.50 with investors trading 12,383 units, Scotia Group slipped $1.65 to finish at $43.85 after 4,188 stocks changed hands. Seprod lost $5.32 to $81.67 with investors dealing in 880 units, Supreme Ventures dropped 49 cents to end at $22.52 after 32,200 stocks crossed the exchange and Sygnus Real Estate Finance climbed $1.15 in closing at $10.65 with investors trading 26 shares.
In the preference segment, Jamaica Public Service 7% fell 45 cents and ended at $47.43 with 21 stock units clearing the market and Sygnus Credit Investments C10.5% rose $2 to close at $110 with an exchange of 34 shares.
