Ansa McAl leaps

Ansa McAl, the leading stock trading on Tuesday, jumped $2.79 to post the highest price movement for the day that recorded prices of seven stocks rising, three declining and six ending firm on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, with a 29 percent increase volume traded with 4 percent greater value than Monday, resulting from activities in 16 securities compared with 18 on Monday.
The market closed with trading of 1,780,592 shares valued $10,318,637, compared with 1,383,093 stock units trading for $9,940,068 on Monday.
An average of 111,287 shares were traded at $644,915 compared with 76,839 units at $552,226 on Monday, with trading month to date averaging 64,339 stocks at $454,883 compared with 55,803 units at $420,332 on the previous day and  September with a 19,319 shares average at $151,318.
The Composite Index increased 2.47 points to 1,054.30, the All T&T Index gained 7.27 points to wrap up trading at 1,577.43, the SME Index remained at 88.01 and the Cross-Listed Index fell 0.37 points to end the day at 69.20.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
At the close of market activities, Agostini’s climbed 75 cents to finish at $63.50 with investors dealing in 30,000 stocks, Angostura Holdings rallied 40 cents to $16.50 in an exchange of 114 units, Ansa McAl popped $2.79 to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $62.79 with 3,210 shares crossing the market. Calypso Macro Investment Fund advanced 40 cents to $24 with investors trading 350 stock units, First Citizens Group rose 1 cent to end at $40.41 in an exchange of 520 shares, FirstCaribbean International Bank ended at $7.05 with traders dealing in 478,127 units. Guardian Holdings closed at $14.05 with 3,975 stocks changing hands, Massy Holdings rallied 13 cents and ended at $3.88 with an exchange of 1,250,531 stock units, National Enterprises remained at $2.99 trading 2,161 shares. National Flour Mills lost 5 cents in closing at $1.75 following 6,121 stocks crossing the exchange, NCB Financial slipped 5 cents to close at $2.40 with investors trading 500 units, Prestige Holdings ended at $10.50 after a transfer of 116 stock units. Republic Financial ended at $111.50 and closed after 388 shares changed hands, Scotiabank remained at $56.40 after an exchange of 279 units, Trinidad & Tobago NGL gained 25 cents and ended at $5 with a transfer of 4,000 stocks and West Indian Tobacco sank 40 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $7 with 200 stock units crossing the market.
