Trinidad stocks look to be firming

Volume trading ended at 1,192,408 shares valued at $3,543,220 in contrast to Friday’s 195,248 units valued at $3,655,973.
The Composite Index gained 0.66 points to 1,251.43, the All T&T Index rose 0.93 points to 1,830.60 and the Cross Listed Index added 0.05 points to 90.16 with year to date gains of 15.34 percent.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer ended with 6 stocks with bids higher than last selling prices and 7 with lower offers.
Gains| First Citizens gained 1 cent, closing at $32.50 with an exchange of 1,512 shares, First Caribbean International Bank closed at a 52 weeks’ high of $9.05 with gains of 4 cents while trading 13,848 units, Guardian Holdings ended trading at a 52 weeks’ high of $16.51, climbing 51 cents with 22,631 shares changing hands valued at $373,435. JMMB Group gained 2 cents to close at $1.22 trading 838,419 units valued at $1,019,343, Prestige Holdings added 1 cent to close at $11 with an exchange of 447 shares and Trinidad & Tobago NGL advanced 40 cents to $23.65 with 5,956 shares changing owners.
Losses| Clico Investment lost 1 cent to close at $22.50 with 11,575 units traded, National Commercial Bank closed at $3.97, losing 3 cents with 101,500 units changing hands valued at $403,000, Point Lisas closed 5 cents lower to $3.65 with an exchange 500 shares. Republic Financial Holdings closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $103.25, losing 75 cents trading 249 shares and Scotia Investments was down 1 cent trading 103,650 units to end at $2.19
Firm Trades| Ansa McAL closed at $66.45 trading 2,000 units, Grace Kennedy traded 70,100 shares at $2.63 while Massy Holdings exchanged 2,377 units to end at $53. Sagicor Financial closed at $9.30 with an exchange of 11,479 units and Scotiabank held firm at $58.75 with 6,165 shares changing hands valued at $362,194, but closed with the offer at $58.70 to sell 930 units.
