Trading surges on JSE US Dollar Market 


Trading surged on the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 1,505 percent with a 11,069 percent jump in value compared with Friday.

Productive Business Solutions contributed $1.37 million, resulting in an exchange of nine securities, compared with nine on Friday, with prices of three rising, two declining and four ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,137,658 shares for US$1,379,370 after increasing from 257,807 stock units at US$12,350 on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 459,740 shares at US$153,263 after climbing from 28,645 stock units at US$1,372 on Friday, with a month to date average of 1,027,592 units at US$343,951 compared to 1,097,601 stock units at US$367,460 on the previous day and May that ended with an average of 180,903 units for US$8,607.
The US Denominated Equities Index increased 0.36 points to finish at 234.50. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.

At the close of trading, First Rock Real Estate USD share dropped 0.43 of one cent to close at 2.44 US cents, with investors dealing in 12 shares, Margaritaville remained at 6.96 US cents after a transfer of 163 stock units, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy shed 5 cents in closing at a 52 weeks low of 23 US cents as investors exchanged 1,136 shares. Productive Business Solutions ended at 34.4 US cents following trading of 3,989,602 units, Proven Investments ended at 6.95 US cents with investors trading 6,036 stocks, Sterling Investments inched 0.01 of a cent higher to end at 2 US cents after an exchange of 5,700 shares. Sygnus Credit Investments popped 0.01 of a cent in closing at 5.9 US cents with a transfer of 7 stocks, Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share rallied 0.01 of a cent to 3.76 US cents with 31,707 units crossing the exchange and Transjamaican Highway remained at 4.78 US cents in trading 103,295 stock units.
