Trading resulted in higher volume and value of stocks passing through the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 48 percent and the value jumping 47 percent compared to Thursday, following an exchange of 11 securities, compared with 12 on Thursday, with prices of two rising, seven declining and two ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 511,787 shares for US$33,241 after rising from 345,233 stock units at US$22,598 on Thursday.
Trading ended with an average of 46,526 shares at US$3,022 after increasing 28,769 stock units at US$1,883 on Thursday. Trading for the month to date averages 49,976 units at US$3,940 compared with 50,619 stock units at US$4,111 on the preceding day and an average of 120,090 units for US$9,981in September.
The US Denominated Equities Index dropped 4.00 points to finish at 280.10. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows one stock ended with a bid higher than the last selling price and one with a lower offer.

At the close of trading, AS Bryden skidded 0.05 of a cent and ended at a 52 weeks low of 16.85 US cents, with investors swapping 2,541 units, First Rock Real Estate USD share remained at 2 US cents with a transfer of 21,418 stocks, Proven Investments lost 0.15 of a cent to end at 5.62 US cents after an exchange of 70,781 shares. Quantas Advantage declined 1.57 cents in closing at 14.8 US cents with 2,961 stock units clearing the market, Sterling Investments fell 0.03 of one cent to finish at 2.25 US cents after a transfer of 52 shares, Sygnus Credit Investments slipped 0.57 of a cent to close at 6.03 US cents in trading 19,840 stock units. Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share climbed 0.39 of a cent to 4.99 US cents with 13,300 units crossing the market and Transjamaican Highway dropped 0.2 of a cent to close at 6.2 US cents after trading of 380,627 stocks.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group US8.5% increased 1 cent to end at US$1.05 with 70 shares changing hands. Productive Business Solutions 9.25% shed 40 cents to finish at US$11.50, with investors trading 97 stocks and Sygnus Credit Investments 8% ended at US$10 in an exchange of 100 units.
