The Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market closed on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 169 percent with a 173 percent greater value than on Thursday, resulting in the exchange of six securities, up from just three on Thursday with prices of one rising, two declining and three ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 386,222 shares for US$19,062 compared to 143,387 stock units at US$6,984 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 64,370 shares at US$3,177 compared to 47,796 stocks at US$2,328 on Thursday, with a month to date average of 66,999 shares at US$3,696 compared with 67,328 units at US$3,761 on the previous day and September that ended with an average of 161,382 stocks for US$5,462.
The US Denominated Equities Index skidded 1.56 points to end at 220.60.
The PE Ratio, one of the best known measures used to determine appropriate stock values, averages 6.7. The PE ratio is calculated based on last traded prices divided by projected earnings, computed by ICInsider.com for companies with financial year ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close, Proven Investments slipped 1 cent to close at 9 US cents with a transfer of 60,000 units, Sterling Investments dipped 0.08 of a cent to 1.55 US cents with 119 stocks clearing the market,
Sygnus Credit Investments ended at 7.3 US cents after a transfer of 33,371 shares. Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share ended at 5.5 US cents in swapping 6,760 stock units and Transjamaican Highway rallied 0.02 of a cent to finish at 2.05 US cents after an exchange of 285,488 shares.
In the preference segment, Sygnus Credit Investments US 8% ended at US$10.30 with investors trading 484 stock units.
