Trading jumped sharply on JSE USD Market 


Trading jumped sharply on the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 42 percent with 45 percent more value than on Monday, resulting in an exchange of five securities, compared with nine on Monday, with prices of two rising, none declining and three ending unchanged.

The market closed with an exchange of 5,859,990 shares for US$2,002,197 compared to 4,137,658 stock units at US$1,379,370 on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 1,171,998 shares at US$400,439 compared to 459,740 stock units at US$153,263 on Monday, with a month to date average of 1,035,891 units at US$347,197, well in line with 1,027,592 stock units at US$343,951 on the previous day and well above May with an average of 180,903 units for US$8,607.
The US Denominated Equities Index popped 0.01 points to settle at 234.51. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
The PE Ratio, one of the most used measures to determine appropriate stock values, averages 7.7. ICInsider.com compiles the earnings per share and the PE used in this report. The PE ratio is derived by dividing the last traded price of a stock by the earnings per share for the financial year ending around August 2026.
At the close, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy rose 1 cent to 24 US cents, with an exchange of 205 shares, Productive Business Solutions increased 5.92 cents to 40.32 US cents with  5,813,958 stock units being traded, Sterling Investments remained at 2 US cents, with an exchange of 2,000 shares. Sygnus Credit Investments ended trading at 5.9 US cents in switching ownership of 1,000 stock units and Transjamaican Highway ended at 4.78 US cents as investors exchanged 42,827 units.
