The US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded surging 251 percent with 268 percent more value than on Friday, resulting from an exchange of eight securities, compared with nine on Friday, with prices of two rising, two declining and four ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 887,366 shares for US$55,429 compared to 252,482 stock units at US$15,043 on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 110,921 shares at US$6,929, up from 28,054 stock units at US$1,671 on Friday, with a month to date average of 143,686 units at US$58,805 compared with 145,377 stock units at US$61,482 on the previous day and June, with an average of 625,703 units for US$203,999.
The US Denominated Equities Index increased 4.67 points to conclude trading at 277.89. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.

At the close of market activity, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy remained at 20 US cents with investors trading 388 stocks, Productive Business Solutions ended at 85 US cents, with 100 units changing hands, Proven Investments declined 0.25 of one cent to close at 6.1 US cents in an exchange of 10,921 shares. Quantas Advantage remained at 9.89 US cents with 4,221 stock units clearing the market, Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share fell 0.19 of one cent to end at 5 US cents in switching ownership of 2,951 shares and Transjamaican Highway advanced 0.46 of a cent to finish at 6.31 US cents, with 868,501 stock units crossing the market.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group US8.5% rose .02 of a cent and ended at $1.22, with an exchange of 212 shares and Sygnus Credit Investments E8.5% ended at US$10, with 72 units crossing the market.
