Trading activity drops on Friday

SM sign Trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Friday with less activity than on Thursday, as 10 securities changed hands, down from the 15 traded on Thursday. The market closed with 134,140 shares changing hands valued at $475,187 compared to Thursday’s volume of 219,147 shares valued at $2,777,660.
At the end of trading just 1 security advanced, 4 declined, while 5 traded firm. The market closed with the Composite Index declining 0.77 points to end at 1,178.00 points. The All T & T Index lost 1.73 points to close at 1,807.57 points, down 7.23 percent for the year to date while the Cross Listed Index advanced 0.03 points to close at 73.22 points with a gain of 47.89 percent year to date.

Gains| Grace Kennedy gained 1 cent to end with 16,997 shares and closed at $2.56.

Trinidad & Tobago NGL lost 1 cent to end with 10,658 shares trading at $22.99 and Trinidad Cement lost 5 cents with 3,800 shares changing hands to end at $3.40.
Firm Trades | First Citizens Bank traded 1,195 shares to close at $33, JMMB Group with 100,363 shares to close at 90 cents, Massy Holdings with 210 shares changing hands closed at $51, Scotiabank traded 510 shares to close at $58.74 and West Indian Tobacco traded 10 shares to close $127.
