JSE US$ market index falls

The JSE US dollar Market closed on Tuesday with more decline in the market index as trading volume slipping slightly below Monday level but at a much higher value.
Market activity resulted in only three securities changing hands, with the prices of all three declining. Trading ended with 649,264 shares with a value of US$121,654 changing hands, in contrast to 663,563 units for US$69,954 from trading of four securities on Monday.
At the close, the market fell 1.80 points to 188.99 and the PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13.2 times 2020 earnings.
At the end of trading, Proven Investments lost half a cent, trading 542,918 shares to settle at 22 US cents. Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 12.9 US cents after losing one-tenth of a cent in exchanging 9,756 units and Trans Jamaican Highway shed 0.001 of a cent and ended at 0.98 US of a cent, with 96,590 shares changing hands.

JSE US market closes May up

Jamaica Stock Exchange, US dollar market, closed upon the final trading day of May but lost just over three percent for the month and 16 percent for the year to date.
The US dollar market activity resulted in four securities changing hands, down from six on Thursday and ended with one declining and three stock closing unchanged. Investors traded 105,523 units at US$10,755, in contrast to 232,148 units for US$6,140 on Thursday.
At the close, the market index rose 1.03 points to 190.29 and the PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13.2 times 2020 earnings.
In trading, Productive Business Solutions fell 2 cents and closed at 75 US cents, after exchanging just one unit, Proven Investments traded 21,691 shares at 22.5 US cents. Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 13 US cents in transferring 42,000 stock units and Trans Jamaican ended at 0.99 US cents, with 41,831 shares changing hands.

Low trading on JSE US$ market

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market remains subdued on Thursday, even as the number of active securities rose over that on Wednesday as the market continues to consolidate.
At the close of market activity, six securities changed hands, down from five on Wednesday. Trading ended with the prices of two stocks rising, one declining and three remaining unchanged. Just 232,148 shares changed hands at US$6,140, in contrast to 253,911 units for US$25,811 on Wednesday.
At the close, the market lost 0.92 points to 189.26 and the PE ratio of the market closed with an average of 13.2 times 2020 earnings.
In trading activity, First Rock Capital gained 1 cent and closed at 9 US cents, with 8,584 units changing hands, Margaritaville traded 700 units at 18 US cents, Proven Investments ended at 22.5 US cents, after picking up half a cent after exchanging 13,792 stock units. Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 13 US cents with 857 units crossing the exchange and Trans Jamaican ended at 0.99 US cents after transferring 208,169 shares.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 6% shed 6 cents to close at $1 with an exchange of a mere 46 units.

Newly listed Trans Jamaican Highway continued to dominate trading in the US dollar market on Wednesday accounting for 96.6 percent of the total volume of 5,292,251 units for $93,450.
The US market index advanced 2.49 points to close at 187.35 after seven securities traded. First Rock Capital closed at 9 US cents, after gaining 0.6 of a cent in exchanging 8,982 units, JMMB Group 5.75% preference share rose 3 cents to close at US$2.15, with 2,165 units changing hands, JMMB Group 6% traded 2,821 shares at US$1. Productive Business Solutions shed 4 cents to end at 70 US cents with 123 units changing hands, Proven Investments gained half of a cent in trading 166,378 and closed at 24 US cents, Sygnus Credit Investments rose by 1 cent exchanging 107 units and closed at 13 US cents and Trans Jamaican Highway traded 5,111,675 shares at 0.09 of one US cent.

Trans Jamaica dominates US trading

Trans Jamaica Highway commenced trading in the US dollar market having been listed at the start of trading and dominated market activity 86 percent of the day’s volume.
At the close of trading, the US dollar market ended with 2,713,918 units for $94,890 with the market declining 15.09 points to close at 184.86. First Rock Capital lost 0.6 of a cent to close at 8.4 US cents, with an exchange of 8,880 units, JMMB Group 6% preference share lost 1 cent to close at US$1, with 479 stock units changing hands, Margaritaville traded 100 shares at 24 US cents. Proven Investments shed 1.5 cents in swapping 332,924 units and closed at 23.5 US cents, Sterling Investments lost half of a cent in trading 32,300 stock units and closed at 2 US cents. Sygnus Credit Investments traded 6,264 units 12 US cents and Trans Jamaican Highway shed .001 of a cent in transferring 2,332,971 shares to end the day at 0.9 of a US cent.
