The Junior Market tumbles on Friday

The Junior Market Index tumbled on Friday with a drop of 63.94 points to end trading activities at 2,532.08 as declining stocks outpaced advancing ones 3 to 1.
The day ended, with the prices of seven stocks rising, 20 declining while eight remained firm. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at nine based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Trading ended with an exchange of 4,584,423 shares for $12,466,749 from 35 shares compared to 6,245,390 units at $15,597,349 from 33 securities on Thursday.  Indies Pharma led trading with 2.43 million shares for 53 percent of total volume, followed by Everything Fresh with 384,763 units for 8 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 250,122 units for 6 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 130,984 units for an average of $356,193, in contrast to an average of 189,254 valued at $472,647 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 464,265 units at $1,176,300 for each security traded in contrast to 517,773 units at $1,307,969 previously. In contrast, the average trade for June was 245,049 units at $689,955 for each active security.

At the close of the market, Access Financial dived $4.33 to $21.67 in trading 17,214 units, AMG Packaging lost 36 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.15 with investors transferring 49,074 units, Caribbean Flavours jumped 32 cents to finish at $10.50 with an exchange of 3,404 stock units. Caribbean Producers increased by 10 cents to close at $2.48 in trading 52,951 units, Derrimon Trading slipped 3 cents to close at $2.38 with 5,400 stock units changing hands, Dolphin Cove declined by 20 cents to end at $7.80 with of 21,000 units changing hands. Elite Diagnostic dropped 13 cents and traded 16,797 units to finish at $3.62, Everything Fresh lost 8 cents to close at 67 cents with investors transferring 384,763 shares, Express Catering fell 5 cents to $4.25 with 50 shares changing hands. Fontana dipped by 9 cents to close at $5.10 with investors exchanging 111,283 units, Fosrich dropped 7 cents to $3.68 in the transfer of 9,043 units, General Accident shed 20 cents in the trading of 18,676 shares to finish at $6.80. GWest Corporation lost 4 cents and exchanged 5,204 units to settle at 85 cents, Indies Pharma ended with investors transferring 2,426,126 stock units as the stock shed 17 cents to close at $2.78, Jamaican Teas lost 9 cents to finish at $4.70 with 44,424 stock units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation fell 3 cents to settle at $1.05 in trading 62,409 shares, Knutsford Express dropped 30 cents to close at $6.50 with 102,248 units changing hands, Lasco Financial rose 1 cent to $2.51 with an exchange of 47,400 shares. Lasco Manufacturing increased by 9 cents to settle at $3.70 with 104,900 units traded, Limners and Bards gained 10 cents to end at $2.60 with investors transferring 73,015 shares, Lumber Depot fell 3 cents and traded 250,122 units to finish $1.02. Mailpac Group closed 5 cents higher at $2.03 with 170,630 stock units changing hands, Main Event declined 1 cent to $4.07 in the transfer of 769 units, Paramount Trading lost 14 cents to end at $1.80 with 30,600 shares crossing the exchange. SSL Venture slipped 1 cent to 89 cents and exchanging just one unit, Stationery and Office Supplies gained 10 cents to end at $5.80 with the transfer of 2,300 units and tTech lost 50 cents to close at $4.70 with 3,074 units changing hands.

Junior Market ekes out more gains – Wednesday

Within 20 minutes of opening on Wednesday, the Junior Market surged nearly 40 points to 2,640.89 points, but selling pressure of a few stocks gradually eroded the most of the early gains, leaving the Market Index in adding just 8.04 points for the day, to finish at 2610.02 with Mailpac accounting for more than 19 million shares.
Similar to Tuesday, when 34 securities changed hands, a similar number of stocks traded on Wednesday, with the prices of 14 stocks rising, nine declining and 11 stocks closing unchanged. The day ended with an exchange of 22,898,027 shares accounting for $49,652,613 compared to 21,554,761 units at $46,869,796 on Tuesday. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Mailpac Group led trading with 19.3 million shares for 84 percent of total volume followed by General Accident with 1.24 million units for 5.4 percent of the day’s trade and Everything Fresh with 498,073 units for 2 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 673,471 units at $1,460,371, in contrast to an average of 633,964 shares for $1,378,523 on Tuesday. For the month to date, an average of 658,177 shares traded at $1,664,469 for each security, in contrast to 554,511 units at $1,456,207 previously. in comparison, the average trade for June was 245,049 units at $689,955 for each security traded.

Junior Market jumps to end June

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended June on a positive note with the market index rising 24.30 to close at 2.592.24 and ended the halfway mark of the year, down 22.6 percent and closing out the month 41 points lower than the close of May.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands, down from 37 on Monday, with prices of 15 stocks rising, 10 declining and eight stocks closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,554,181 shares accounting for 12,472,239 compared to 13,689,006 units at 25,143,842 on Monday.
Jetcon Corporation led trading with 1.23 million units for 27 percent of total trades, followed by Mailpac Group with 786,681 shares or 17 percent and Lasco Distributors with 675,284 stock units at 15 percent market share.

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange resulted in Market Index surging 52.72 points to close at 2,602.92 to cross back above the 2,600 mark after falling below it on Monday, as trading fell back to more normal levels, from the heightened level on Tuesday.

Another positive week for Junior Market

The support line going back to the 2020 low in the market in March is steering the market slowly upwards.

Junior Market gives back some gains

After closing higher on four of five days last week with the week closing with a gain of 42 points on Friday, the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange lost grounds on the first trading day of the week with the market Index declining 32.01 points to close at 2,581.40.
Trading on the finished with 30 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 4,645,198 units valued at $13,350,189 compared to 2,764,337 units valued at $7,742,462 on Friday.

Winning day for Junior Market – Thursday

The Junior Market scraped out some gains on Thursday as the index advanced 15.44 points to close at 2,571.79 as trading picked up, with 32 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 5,176,803 units at $13,735,350 compared to 4,550,105 units for $10,318,665 from 27 stocks on Wednesday.
At the close of market activities, the prices of nine securities advanced, 14 declined and 10 remained unchanged and the PE ratio ended at 9.6 times 2020-21 earnings.
The average stock trading on Thursday was 161,775 units for $429,230 in contrast to 168,522 units for an average of $382,173 on Wednesday. The Junior Market lost momentum on Wednesday as the index declined by 19.52 points to close at 2,556.35. Market activities ended with the prices of 12 securities advancing, twelve declining and prices of three remaining unchanged.
Trading concluded with 27 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 4,550,105 units valued at $10,318,665 versus to 3,765,461 units costing $7,141,689 from 29 stocks on Tuesday. The PE ratio of the market ended at 9.5 times 2020-21 earnings.

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange inched higher for a second day at the close of the market on Tuesday, with the market index advancing by 15.31 points to 2,575.87 as advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones almost two to one.

General Accident closed trading of 21,778 units and gained 28 cents to end at $5.65, Honey Bun fell 24 cents in the swapping of 68,316 units to settle at $5.21, Indies Pharma exchanged 123,141 shares after rising 9 cents to end at $2.30. Iron Rock Insurance closed at $3.20 after exchanging 100 units and falling 50 cents, Jamaican Teas finished 1 cent higher at $4.90, with 3,200 stock units trading, Lasco Distributors exchanged 238,000 stock units and gained 2 cents to settle at $3. Lasco Financial climbed 8 cents in the swapping of 59,840 shares to finish at $2.63, Lasco Manufacturing ended the day with 23,943 shares traded after rising 4 cents to $3.89, Limners and Bards shed 9 cents to close at $1.94 with 7,835 changing hands.
