Junior Market blast pass 3,500 to record

New record high for the JSE Junior Market.

Investors pushed most prices higher on the Junior Market in trading on Friday with the vast majority of companies contributing to market activity as the market index rocketed to cross the 3,500 mark for the first time.
The Junior Market Index jumped 74.67 points to close at a record 3,537.21 on a day when 35 securities changed hands, up from 32 on Wednesday, as prices of 21 securities rose, 9 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
At the close, Limners and Bards ended at a record close of $3.75, Elite Diagnostic closed at a record high of $6.22, Jamaican Teas ended at a record close of $7.26, but Caribbean Cream closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $4.25.
Market activities resulted in an exchange of 6,412,413 units valued at $28,100,938 compared to 16,230,256 units valued at $62,517,388 on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 183,212 units for an average of $802,884 in contrast to 479,173 units for an average of $2,057,215 on Wednesday. July ended with an average of 138,412 units with a value of $563,215 for each security traded.

Record run continues for Junior Market

Investors’ attention is now focused on the Junior Market with their buying interest lifted it 16 percent, from this year’s low and pushed the market to a second day close, at a record high of 3,462.54 after rising 21.62 points.
At the close, The Lab climbed to $3.50 but ended at a record close of $3.15, Jamaican Teas ended at a record close of $5.65 and Stationery and Office Supplies closed at a record high of $12.65.

3 days listing triples the Lab’s value

Investors in the advertising agents, Limners and Bards (the Lab) saw their investment tripling, with just three days of listing on the Junior Market, helping to push the market index to a record closing high.
The Lab that went to the market at an IPO price of $1, climbed to $3 at the close of trading on Tuesday since listing on Friday.
The stock is one of 36 securities changing hands on Tuesday, just outpacing the 34 that traded on Monday, as prices of 20 securities advanced, 10 declined and 6 remained unchanged.
 At the close, the Junior Market Index surged 56.51 points to close at record closing high of 3,440.92, surpassing the 3,436.31 points reached on September 20 last year and is now up 6 percent for the year, after falling as high as 9.6 percent

Big push higher for Junior Market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Index surged 85.66 points to end at 3,318.09 on Thursday, the highest close for the year, and the highest point since the latter part of October last year.
Since the close of trading last week Thursday, the Junior Market gained 234.26 and is now 2.2 percent up, for the year. The PE ratio is just 11 times 2019 estimated earnings well off from the more than 15 for the main market.
By the close of trading, Blue Power jumped to a 52 weeks’ high of $13.50 and so did Elite Diagnostic that closed trading at $6 and Stationery and Office Supplies trading at a record $12.
The market closed with 34 securities changing hands, compared to 27 on Wednesday, resulting in the prices of 21 rising, 8 declining and 5 remaining unchanged.

2019 Junior Market losses almost cleared

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market Index rose 38.69 points to close at 3,189.88 on Tuesday and sits just 1.8 percent below the opening level for the year and just slightly lower than the close on January 23.
Blue Power jumped to a 52 weeks’ intraday high of $10 while Elite Diagnostic traded at a 52 weeks’ high of $5.20 but pulled back to $5 at the close.
The market closed on Tuesday with 31 securities changing hands, compared to 28 on Monday, resulting in the prices of 11 rising 10 declining and 7 remaining unchanged.
