Junior Market eyeing record close

Trading closed on Wednesday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 28 percent and the value slipping 22 percent lower than on Tuesday, but the market index held on to most of its early gains at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
A total of 42 securities traded similar to Tuesday and ended with 15 rising, 16 declining and 11, closing unchanged. The Junior Market Index climbed 23.96 points to settle at 3,642.76, just 20 points away from the August 2019 record close.

Spur Tree Spices led trading with 2.22 million shares for 23.8 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy Source with 1.94 million units for 20.7 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 885,926 units for 9.5 percent market share.
Trading averaged 222,251 shares at $732,603 in contrast to 308,844 shares at $937,313 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 323,421 units at $1,206,540, compared to 329,869 units at $1,236,745, previously. December closed with an average of 409,209 units at $1,318,877.

At the close, Access Financial increased $1 in closing at $24 after an exchange of 5,226 shares, AMG Packaging advanced 15 cents to close at $3.30 in trading 149,663 stock units, Blue Power lost 9 cents in ending at $3.16 after 4,655 stocks were traded. CAC 2000 dropped 77 cents to $7.53 in switching ownership of 2,921 units, Cargo Handlers fell 21 cents to $7.30 in an exchange of 1,001 stocks, Caribbean Assurance Brokers gained 10 cents to finish at $2.99 with the swapping of 144,260 shares. Caribbean Cream shed 20 cents in ending at $5, with 301,934 units changing hands,  Consolidated Bakeries declined 9 cents to close at $1 in trading 160,517 stock units, Elite Diagnostic popped 21 cents to end at $3.70, with 78,665 units clearing the market. Fosrich dropped 23 cents in closing at $14.57 while exchanging 49,509 stock units, Future Energy Source fell 11 cents to $3.29 with an exchange of 1,936,712 shares, iCreate declined 7 cents to close at 78 cents after 338,244 stocks crossed the market. Iron Rock Insurance lost 13 cents to end at $2.97 with 15,424 units changing hands, ISP Finance spiked $8.50 to $38 after exchanging one stock unit, Jamaican Teas rallied 7 cents to $4.10 trading 39,341 stocks. Junior Market backs off attaching record

Trading activity eased on Tuesday and led to a fall in the market index of 35.13 points to settle at 3,618.80 after the volume and value of stocks trading declined from Monday’s levels on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
At the close of the market, all but one security traded, resulting from 42 active securities compared to 39 on Monday and ended with 14 rising, 17 declining and 11, closing unchanged.

Spur Tree Spice led trading with 2.99 million shares for 23 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy Source with 1.87 million units for 14.4 percent of the day’s trade and Consolidated Bakeries with 1.74 million units for 13.4 percent market share.

Juniors closing in on old 2019 record close

Trading closed on Friday, moved the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market closer to the 3,600 points level ahead of the old record close of August 2019 of 3,662.94 points, with a rise of 16.13 points at the close of Friday to settle at 3,585.75 after trading up to 3,630 points in the early trading session.
Trading calmed, with Spur Tree slipping under 10 million units, but still played a big part in the 16,579,452 shares that traded for $57,855,045, down from 26,022,456 units at $87,517,746 on Thursday. Spur Tree Spices led trading with 8.57 million shares for 51.7 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy Source with 2.3 million units for 13.9 percent of the day’s trade and Jamaican Teas  traded 765,118 units for 4.6 percent market share.
A total of 40 securities traded compared to 43 on Thursday and ended with 15 rising, 19 declining and six, closing unchanged.

Big surge in Junior Market on Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market index surged more than 114 points in early trading on Thursday and ended lower but with a healthy increase of 66.87 points, to end at 3,569.62, with the volume of stocks trading declining 52 percent and the value dropping 56 percent from Wednesday’s healthy 55 million units at nearly $200 million. 
All 43 securities listed on the Junior Market traded on Thursday, up from 41 on Wednesday and ended with 18 rising, 17 declining and eight ending unchanged.
A total of 26,022,456 shares traded for $87,517,746 down from 54,515,428 units at $197,029,437 Wednesday. Spur Tree Spices led trading with 15.23 million shares for 58.5 percent of total volume, but the stock price pulled back from Wednesday’s record, followed by Express Catering with 2.87 million units for 11 percent of the day’s trade and Future Energy Source, 1.35 million units for 5.2 percent market share and Lumber Depot, 1.32 million units changing hands for 5.1 percent market share.

Huge trading day for Junior Market stocks

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market sprang into serious action on Wednesday, with the overall volume of the market surging 182 percent after 240 percent more funds entered the market than on Tuesday and leading to a minor fall in the market index as Spur Tree Spices and Express Catering controlled 86 percent of the volume of stocks traded.
A total of 41 securities traded on Wednesday similar to Tuesday and ended with 18 rising, 13 declining and 10 closing unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 15.44 points to settle at 3,502.75.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market rose moderately at the close of trading on Thursday with the volume of stocks traded rising 26 percent and the value up 69 percent from Wednesday levels as the number of securities changing hands rose.
Market activity led to 39 securities trading up from 36 on Wednesday and ended with 15 rising, nine declining and 15, closing unchanged.

Gains for Junior Market

Trading closed on Wednesday, with the money entering the market jumping 91 percent higher than on Tuesday as the volume of stocks trading rose just 10 percent more than previously traded and resulted in the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market rising at the close.
The Junior Market Index popped 24.26 points to settle at 3,444.62 as 36 securities traded, down from 39 on Tuesday and ended with 11 rising, 14 declining and 11, closing unchanged.

Carib Producers Top stock of the year & Juniors up 30%

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market closed out 2021 with the market Index climbing 29.7 percent to settle at 3,428.30 points while the JSE Main Market index rose a mere one percent to end at 396155.61 points, the JSE USD market closed at 195.51 points for a yearly gain of just 4.99 percent.

Caribbean Producers gained 364% in 2021.

The Junior Market had 32 winners and nine losers, with 2021 newly list Future Energy Source, rising a substantial 266 percent, Fosrich was up 155 percent with rising profit, Jamaica Teas that had a gallant year helped by its investment arm posting positive results and helping to post increased profits for the year and Lumber Depot, with improved results for the year, both companies had a 99 percent rally, followed by ISP Finance up 95 percent.
The JSE main market had 24 stocks rising between one percent and a high of 364 percent. Caribbean Producers was switched from the Junior Market in July this year to the Min Market with the price under $5 and ended the year as the best performing stock in the overall market with a towering gain of 364 percent with the price closing at $13. Had the switch not taken place the Junior Market would have recorded greater gains than it did. Ciboney rose 221 percent as investors speculated heavily on it and Salada Foods jumped 117 percent, with the bulk of the increase coming as a result of a misunderstanding about the stock value. The price is likely to suffer a sharp correction in 2022.

Eppley Property gained 68 percent followed by Radio Jamaica with a 61 percent rise following big gains in profit for the half year that ended in September, this year and GraceKennedy rose 58 percent helped by continued growth in profit.
The average gain for the Junior Market stocks were 48 percent from 32 companies and a total of nine stocks lost an average of 16 percent in the Junior Market with the highest loss being 45 percent clocked up by CAC 2000.
The average gain for the Main Market stocks was 52 percent from 22 stocks and a total of 21 stocks lost an average of 15 percent in the Main Market with the highest loss being 33 percent clocked up by 1834 Investments and Wigton Windfarm.

Junior Market pushes higher

Trading pushed prices and the market value higher on Thursday, on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market with market Index surging 40.20 points to settle at 3,440.91 after the market opened with the index at 3,466.07 as 37 securities traded to end with 18 rising, 13 declining and six, closing unchanged as the volume and value traded fell 48 and 42 percent respectively against Wednesday, when stocks of 37 companies traded.

Trading volume drops for Junior Market

Trading on Wednesday, return to more normal levels at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market as the volume trading fell 82 percent and the value plunged 83 percent compared to Tuesday, with the absence of any major trade, unlike Tuesday, when Limners and Bards led trading with 21.41 million shares, with 81.7 percent of stocks trading.
Market activity led to 37 securities trading compared to 40 on Tuesday and ended with 14 rising, 10 declining and 13, closing unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index popped 6.43 points to end at 3,400.71.

A total of 4,846,291 shares were traded for $17,572,903 compared to 26,214,746 units at $101,388,552 on Tuesday. tTech led trading with 2.09 million shares for 43.2 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy Source with 756,379 units for 15.6 percent of the day’s trade and Tropical Battery with 368,203 units for 7.6 percent market share.
Trading averaged 130,981 shares at $474,943 in contrast to 655,369 shares at $2,534,714 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 397,606 units at $1,288,906, compared to 412,242 units at $1,333,589 on Tuesday. November closed with an average of 160,358 units at $581,730.

ISP Finance fell $3.79 to $38 trading 10 stock units, Jamaican Teas popped 13 cents in closing at $3.98 after exchanging 17,939 units, Jetcon Corporation lost 13 cents to end at 80 cents, with 296,260 shares changing hands.
