The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange recovered some of the recent losses on Wednesday as advancing stocks outnumbered declining stocks and the volume of trading rose 64 percent.
At the close of market activities, the market index rose 28.68 points to close at 2,970.22 as the prices of 14 securities advanced, 11 declined and 3 remained unchanged as 28 securities changed hands, compared to 24 on Tuesday. Trading resulted in rise in the volume changing hands to 3,326,424 units valued at $12,838,542 compared to 2,022,568 units valued $7,237,526 on Tuesday.

Junior Market drops 9.4% for year

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange lost more ground on Tuesday and closed April with a 5 percent fall in value, bringing the four months losses to 9.4 percent compared to a 5.8 percent rise for the All Jamaica index.

Junior Market falls over 8% for year – Friday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange declined on Friday, pulling the market down by 93.35 points for the week, with the index fallen by 8.3 percent for the year to date.
Investors exchanged 27 pushed securities down from 26 on Thursday and pushed prices of 12 down while moving 8 higher and left 6 unchanged, leading to the market index to decline 26.20 points to close at 2,977.71.
