Junior Market inches higher – Thursday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed higher on Thursday, as the number of stocks rising and falling held even after 56 percent fewer shares changed hands than on Wednesday.
Trading concluded with 33 securities changing hands compared to 23 on Wednesday and ended, with the prices of 10 stocks rising, the prices of 10  declining and 13 with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index gained 11.7 points to settle at 2,534.12. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.9 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,700,358 shares for $4,040,852 compared to 3,872,328 units at $9,887,155 on Wednesday.  Mailpac Group led trading with 54.8 percent of the total volume, accounting for 931,763 shares, followed by Fontana with 10.7 percent for 182,377 units and Lumber Depot with 160,000 units, 9.4 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 51,526 units at $122,450 in contrast to 168,362 at $429,876 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 107,083 units at $232,850 compared to 110,542 units at $239,724 on Wednesday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,414 units at $321,996.

At the close of the market, Access Financial lost $2.98 to finish at $22 with an exchange of 1,202 shares, Blue Power declined 16 cents to $3.15 with 3,397 stocks traded, Cargo Handlers fell 5 cents to settle at $7.95 with investors transferring just eight units. Caribbean Assurance Brokers closed 1 cent higher at $1.91 with 100 stocks changing hands, Caribbean Cream climbed 48 cents to finish at $4.34 with investors switching ownership of a mere 100 shares, Derrimon Trading dropped 10 cents to settle at $2.75 with an exchange of 20,209 shares.  Elite Diagnostic lost 18 cents to end at $3.02 with 34,813 stocks passing through the market, Fontana rose 7 cents to close at $4.79 with 182,377 units changing hands, Fosrich shed 35 cents to $3.60 with 37,316 units traded. GWest Corporation slipped 2 cents to 95 cents with investors transferring 95 shares, iCreate gained 7 cents to finish at 75 cents with an exchange of 49,925 shares, ISP Finance climbed $3 to end at $15 with a mere 1 unit passing through the market.  Jamaican Teas declined by 12 cents to settle at $4.27 with  5,525 stocks traded, Jetcon Corporation rose 7 cents to close at 93 cents with a transfer of 84,354 stock units, Lasco Manufacturing gained 10 cents to finish at $3.60  with 100 shares changing hands. Limners and Bards fell 6 cents to $2.69 with 85,599  units traded, Lumber Depot increased by 2 cents and exchanged 160,000 shares to settle at $1.09,  Paramount Trading advanced 29 cents to end at $1.70 with investors trading 100 stocks and SSL Venture slipped 1 cent to 74 cents with 100  shares crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, Derrimon Trading advanced 5 cents to close at $2.05, with 2,165 shares changing hands.

Gains for the Junior Market – Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, with the market rising after more stocks rose than fell as investors traded 41 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 23 securities changing hands compared to 34  on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising, the prices of four declining and six with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 24.97 points to settle at 2,522.42. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.8 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,872,328 shares for $9,887,155  compared to  6,509,165 units at $8,991,954 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 26.9 percent of total volume with an exchange of 1.04 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 25.9 percent of the day’s trade or 1 million units and Lasco Manufacturing with 997,707 units for 25.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 168,362 units at $429,876 in contrast to 191,446 at $264,469 on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 110,542 units at $239,724, in comparison to 107,919 units at  231,098  on Tuesday. Trading in August resulted in an average of  104,426  units at $321,996.

Junior Market loses ground – Tuesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed lower on Tuesday after surging higher during morning activity after more stocks rose than fell with trading resulted in 192 percent more shares changing hands at over twice the value as on Monday.
Trading concluded with 34 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Monday and ended with 14 stocks rising, the prices of 12  declining and eight stock prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 22.73 points to settle at 2,497.45, with the average PE Ratio ended at 10.5  based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 6,509,165 shares for $8,991,954 compared to 2,230,691 units at $4,393,330 on Monday.
Lumber Depot led trading with 84.7 percent of total market volume, with 5.51 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 6.9 percent or 446,478 units and Limners and Bards with 114,036 units for 1.8 percent market share.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Monday, with the market rising after more stocks fell than rose as 28 percent fewer shares changed hands than on Friday with just six percent lower value.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 31 on Friday and ended with the prices of nine stocks rising, the prices of 15  declining and eight, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced 23.08 points to settle at 2,520.18, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.5 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, with the market declining after slightly more stocks rose than fell after 78 percent more shares traded than Thursday.
Trading resulted in the same number of securities on Thursday and Friday changing hands with 31 each day and closed with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 11 declining and seven remaining unchanged.

Junior Market rallies on Thursday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market rising as more stocks rose than fell as investors traded 37 percent fewer shares than Wednesday, but with almost the same dollar value.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 29 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 17 stocks rising, the prices of 10 stocks declining and four, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index gained 25.28 points to settle at 2,508.27. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, with the market declining after almost twice as many stocks fell than rose leading to the trading of 42 percent fewer shares and 36 percent less value than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 29 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Tuesday and concluded with the prices of nine stocks rising, the prices of 16 stocks declining and four with prices remaining unchanged.

Trading in the morning session of the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange saw the market index shooting past 2,560 points, up more 40 points, but the market gave back those gains and more by the close on Tuesday, to end down by 10.17 points at 2,511.77.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Monday and closed with the prices of 17 stocks rising, 13 declining and five remaining unchanged. At the close of the market, the average PE Ratio ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,714,749 shares, 62 percent less than 12,259,583 units on Monday. The value of stocks trading fell 36 percent to $9,788,364 compared to $15,273,356 on Monday.  Lumber Depot led trading with 65 percent of total volume and accounted for 3.06 million shares, followed by General Accident with 5.9 percent for 280,001 units and Express Catering, with 5.7 percent or 269,000 shares.
Trading ended with an average of 134,707 units at $279,668 in contrast to 408,653 at $509,112 on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade was 105,367 units at $239,176, in comparison to 106,780 units at $244,156 on Monday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426 units at $321,996.

At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped back  $4.28 to  $21.51, in exchanging 1,414 units, AMG Packaging lost 4 cents in closing at $1.56 and 22 units crossing the exchange, Blue Power gained 5 cents to end at $3.35, with 7,500 stock units passing through the market. Cargo Handlers rose 50 cents to settle at $7.50 trading  10,000 stock units, Caribbean Assurance Brokers gained 14 cents to finish at $2.05 after exchanging 36,773 shares. Caribbean Flavours closed 70 cents higher at $18.30 with investors swapping just one stock unit, Caribbean Producers lost 1 cent, in ending at $2.31 after 75,000 shares changed hands, Derrimon Trading ended at $2.56, after a 1 cent gain trading 5,267 units. Elite Diagnostic lost 11 cents to close at $3.28, with an exchange of 21,518 stock units, Everything  Fresh gained 6 cents to settle at 71 cents, with 900 units changing hands, Express Catering finished at $4, with a gain of 5 cents after 269,000 shares crossed the exchange. Fontana lost 3 cents to close at $4.70, in trading 62,396 shares, Fosrich ended 35 cents higher at $3.95 trading  9,871 units, General Accident climbed $1.30 to $7.30, with 280,001 shares changing hands. GWest Corporation slipped 2 cents to 96 cents, in trading 11,082 stock units, Honey Bun gained 39 cents to end at $5.10, with 4,000 units crossing the exchange, Indies Pharma closed at $2.80, after gaining 18 cents in transferring 1,778 units. Iron Rock Insurance gained of 3 cents to close at $2.88, after 7,808 units crossed the market, Jamaican Teas shed 9 cents in closing at $4.60, after an exchange of 80,819  shares, Lasco Distributors lost 5 cents to end at $3, with 64,640 stock units changing hands. Lasco Financial lost 1 cent to settle at $2.11 and crossing the exchange with 75,065  stocks, Lasco Manufacturing was down 9 cents to $3.70 trading 524 units, Limners and Bards rose 17 cents to $2.65, in transferring  214,286 stock units. Lumber Depot lost 1 cent to close at $1.09, clearing the market with 3,062,441 shares, MailPac Group finished 9 cents higher at $2.09 after exchanging 99,853 stocks, Medical Disposables rose 9 cents to $4.80, with 20,170 stock units changing hands. Paramount Trading shed 20 cents in closing at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.30 after crossing the exchange with 50,157 stock units, SSL Venture gained 5 cents to end at 75 cents, with investors swapping 1,106 units and Stationery and Office Supplies settled at $5.60, with gains of 40 cents exchanging 153,622 shares.
In the preference segment of the Junior market, CAC 2000 9.5% fell by 14 cents to end at $1.02, clearing the market with 1,880 units.

Lumber Depot dominates Monday’s trade

Lumber Depot commanded the lion’s share of Junior Market trading on Monday after the company reported a 40 percent jump in earnings to reach $29.9 million for the first quarter to July, with revenues rising 11 percent over the comparable period last year.

Trading closed on Monday, with the market rising despite more stocks falling than advancing after investors traded 499 percent more shares than on Friday with the total swollen by Lumber Depot’s big trade. Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Friday and concluded with the prices of eight stocks rising, the prices of 19 companies declining and three with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index inched higher by 7.12 points to 2,521.94. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.6 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 12,259,583 shares for $15,273,356 compared to 2,048,087 units at $5,393,700 on Friday.
Lumber Depot led trading with 90.7 percent of the total volume of 11.12 million shares followed by Indies Pharma with 206,274 units for 1.7 percent of the day’s trade and Mailpac Group with 181,248 units for 1.5 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 408,653 units at $509,112 in contrast to an average of 62,063 shares at $163,445 on Friday. For the month to date, there was an average trade of 106,7,80 units at $244,156, in comparison to 75,003 units at $216,266  on Friday. Fontana lost 1 cent to end at $4.73 with 62,635 stocks passing through the market, Fosrich declined 5 cents to settle at $3.60 in an exchange of 16,943 stocks, General Accident dropped 8 cents to finish at $6 with 33,404 stocks units changing hands. GWest Corporation rose 2 cents to end at 98 cents with 24,000 stocks traded, Honey Bun shed 29 cents to close at $4.71 with investors transferring 5,000 units, Indies Pharma dropped 23 cents to settle at $2.62 in an exchange of 206,274 units. Lasco Distributors slipped  8 cents to close at $3.05 with 7,092 units changing hands, Lasco Financial declined by 2 cents to finish at $2.12 with 70,935 stocks traded, Lasco Manufacturing gained 6 cents to end at $3.79 with 32,978 shares passing through the market. Limners and Bards dropped 32 cents to close at $2.48 with investors switching ownership of  61,016 units, Lumber Depot exchanged 11,123,785 shares and advanced 5 cents to settle at $1.10, Mailpac Group slipped 1 cent to $2 with 181,248 stock units traded.  Main Event fell 11 cents to end at $3.39 with 2,418  stocks switching hands, Medical Disposables finished 1 cent higher at $4.71 with an exchange of 1,123  shares, Paramount Trading lost 5 cents to settle at $1.50 with investors switching ownership of 146,900 stock units. SSL Venture fell 1 cent to close at 70 cents in an exchange of 35,144 shares, Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 39 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.20 with a mere 11 stock units trading and tTech jumped 75 cents in finishing at $5.75 with 281 units crossing the exchange.

Junior Market closes with gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, with the market rising with advancing stocks were edged out by declining ones, after an exchange of 41 percent fewer shares than on Thursday.
Trading concluded with 33 securities changing hands, up from 31 on Thursday and ended, with the prices of 13 stocks rising, the prices of 14 declining and six with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 18.3 points to settle at 2,514.82, the highest point since August 28. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.6  based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of  2,048,087 shares for $5,393,700  compared to 3,485,582 units at $7,773,090 on Thursday. Mailpac Group led trading with 31.2 percent of total volume for 639,248 shares, followed by Lasco Distributors with 26.3 percent and 539,293 units and  Lumber Depot with 7.7 percent market share, with 158,533 shares.
Trading ended with an average of 62,063 units at $163,445 in contrast to 112,438 at $250,745 on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 75,003  units at $216,266, in comparison to 76,698 units at $223,183 on Thursday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426 units at $321,996.

Caribbean Flavours fell 3 cents to settle at $18.44 with 3,309 stocks passing through the market, Derrimon Trading advanced 34 cents to end at $2.85 in an exchange of 18,707 shares, Elite Diagnostic closed 33 cents higher at $3.39 with investors transferring 10,050 units. Express Catering slipped 2 cents to $3.93 with 19,201 stock units traded, Fontana lost 3 cents to finish at $4.74 with 138,448 shares passing through the market, General Accident gained 8 cents to end at $6.08 in an exchange of 868 stock units. iCreate rose 4 cents to settle at 70 cents with 3,306 stocks changing hands, Indies Pharma gained 7 cents to close at $2.85 with135,634 stock units traded, Jamaican Teas gained 14 cents to finish at $4.69 with investors switching ownership of 48,000 stock units. Jetcon Corporation lost 7 cents to end at 85 cents in an exchange of 2,550 shares, KLE Group declined by 6 cents to finish at $1.36 with 1,000 shares changing hands, Lasco Distributors traded 539,293 stock units and advanced 10 cents to settle at $3.13. Lasco Financial rose 2 cents to close at $2.14 with investors transferring 3,750 units, Lasco Manufacturing fell 6 cents to end at $3.73 in an exchange of 1,136 shares, Limners and Bards slid 2 cents to $2.80 with 75,975 shares passing through the market. Lumber Depot finished 1 cent higher at $1.05 with 158,533 shares changing hands, Mailpac Group traded 639,248 stock units and gained 1 cent to settle at $2.01, Main Event rose 5 cents to end at $3.50 in an exchange of 501 shares. Medical Disposables advanced 8 cents to end at $4.70 with investors switching ownership of 500 stocks and Paramount Trading fell 5 cents to settle at $1.55 with 14,333 units crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, Derrimon Trading dropped 40 cents to close at $1.90, with 54,533 stocks changing hands.
