Volume traded on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange surged 275 percent from Monday’s level and leading the market index to gain 14.36 points to close at 3,015.11.
Trading ended with 28 securities changed hands, leading to increased trading of 3,635,699 units valued at $13,729,423, as General Accident traded more than 2.3 million shares, compared to trading of 26 securities on Monday that led to 970,319 units valued at $3,350,642 changing hands.
The market closed with the prices of 13 stocks advancing, 10 declining and 5 remaining unchanged.

At the close of the market, investors exchanged 26 stocks, compared to 22 on Wednesday with prices of 9 rising, 11 declining with 6 remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in an exchange of just 690,056 units valued at $2,672,243, compared to 723,588 units valued at $2,470,037 on Wednesday.

FosRich Group traded 40 cents higher at $4.30, with 3,000 shares crossing the exchange, Fontana finished trading with 136,013 shares, and rose 5 cents higher to $4, General Accident closed 30 cents higher at $4.30, with an exchange of 940 stock units. iCreate closed trading at 90 cents, in exchanging 40,000 shares. Indies Pharma finished at $3.01, trading 54,588 shares, Iron Rock settled with a loss of 10 cents at $3.90, with 100 shares changing hands, Jamaican Teas  traded 5,500 units, with a loss of 40 cents at $3.60,  Jetcon Corporation  finished trading with 101,986 shares and lost 9 cents to close at $2.40. Investors exchanged 22 stocks on Wednesday compared to 26 on Tuesday with prices of 10 rising, 5 declining while 7 remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in an exchange of 723,588 units valued at over $2,470,037 compared to 1,647,966 units valued $7,220,502 on Tuesday.
