Slow start to Friday’s trading

unlike Thursday when there were some large trades trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange got off to a slow start on Friday,JSE intra 15-04-16 with the largest trade being National Commercial Bank with 139,796 shares trading at $40.48 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share with 1,331,340 units at $2.15.
Trading saw all major indices rising after 75 minutes of trading on Friday with an average of 73,514 per active stock traded, up from an average of 398,593 units traded in the mid-morning session on Friday.
A total of 22 securities compared to 33 on Thursday, accounting for 1,617,302 shares changed hands at 10.45 am as 4 stocks gained and 6 declined.
The market saw the all Jamaica Composite Index dropped by 1,257.04 points to 165,565.74, the JSE Market Index slipped 1,124.00 points to 149,087.24 the JSE combined index ending with a fall of 946.57 points to 157,122.37 and the junior market index increasing by 9.37 points to 1,834.87.
