The two major markets of the Jamaica Stock Exchange delivered some Christmas gains over the past two weeks, with the Main Market Index climbing 1,653 points and the Junior Market rallying 40 points. The ICTOP10 stocks recorded mostly gains over the period.
Kintyre Holdings declined from the last report to as low as 39 cents, but strong buying in the stock pushed it back up to 54 cents by the close of the week. The stock holds the number one position in the TOP10, with considerable room to run, according to ICInsider’s earnings this yearprojection of 20 cents per share.
Access Financial jumped 19 percent to $18.79, Jetcon Corporation rose 17 percent to $1.51, MFS Partners rallied 14 percent to 40 cents, while Express Catering dived 17 percent to $2.40. In the Main Market, ICTOP10, Margaritaville climbed 21 percent to $14, NCB Financial rose 11 percent to $41.80, while Sygnus Credit Investment fell 12 percent to $11.65.
Falling out of the Junior Market TOP10 are Caribbean Flavours and Elite Diagnostic, and were replaced by AMG Packaging and Iron Rock Insurance.
In the Main Market ICTOP10, 138 Student Living dropped out and was replaced by Caribbean Producers.
Kintyre doubled in price during December, leading the Junior Market list with potential gains of 567 percent, with Express Catering collapsing to $2.40 this week, with a potential to gain 313 percent. Sygnus Credit Investments leads in the Main Market with a potential gain of 444 percent, followed by Innovative Energy, 435 percent and JMMB Group, 400 percent.
The average PE for the JSE Main Market ICTOP 10 is 4.7, less than half of the market average of 13.6 and shows the potential gains of the TOP10 listings.
The Junior Market TOP10 is 7, just above half the market’s average of 13.6.
