Junior Market moves higher

On Thursday, trading closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the volume and the value of stocks traded moderately higher than on Wednesday and leading to 38 securities trading versus 42 on Wednesday, with 23 rising, eight declining and seven closing unchanged.
A total of 11,723,137 shares were traded for $41,595,347 versus 10,525,616 units at $40,636,799 on Wednesday. Trading averaged 308,504 shares at $1,094,614 in contrast to 250,610 units at $967,543 on Wednesday, with the month to date, averaging 608,868 units at $3,156,681 compared to 627,955 units at $3,287,715 on Wednesday the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 429,016 units at $1,630,104.
Dolla Financial led trading with 7.68 million shares for 65.5 percent of total volume followed by JFP Limited with 1.11 million units for 9.5 percent of the day’s trade and EduFocal with 484,655 units for 4.1 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rallied 29.12 points to 4,323.51. The PE Ratio, a measure of computing appropriate stock values, averages 12.8. The PE ratios of Junior Market stocks incorporate ICInsider.com projected earnings for companies with financial year end that falls between November this year and August 2023.

At the close, AMG Packaging lost 27 cents to close at $4 while trading just 2,629 shares, Caribbean Assurance Brokers increased 10 cents to end at $2.40 with the swapping of 14,960 units, Caribbean Cream rose 37 cents in closing at $4.65 with 32 stock units changing hands. EduFocal gained 12 cents in ending at $2.27 after exchanging 484,655 stocks, Elite Diagnostic shed 25 cents to $3.50 with an exchange of 81,342 stock units, Express Catering rallied 40 cents to $5.95 in an exchange of 5,987 shares. Fontana climbed 23 cents to end at $10.13, with 36,687 stocks crossing the market, Honey Bun popped 42 cents after ending at $8.89 and trading 945 units, Iron Rock Insurance advanced 30 cents to close at $3.26 in exchanging 53 stock units. ISP Finance rose 50 cents in closing at $23 in switching ownership of 649 units, Limners and Bards advanced 13 cents to end at $3.18, with 74,468 stocks crossing the market, SSL Venture climbed 10 cents in closing at $3.40 after 106,025 shares crossed the exchange. Stationery and Office Supplies fell $1.23 in ending at $17.20 in trading 78,605 stock units after hitting a record high of $19.29 and Tropical Battery gained 12 cents to close at $2.87, with 242,287 shares changing hands.
