Grace Kennedy hit a new high of $120 with a rise of $10 in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange in the early morning session on Monday with 8384 shares changing hands, while Pan Jamaican Investment Trust went ex-split today with the bid at $24.23 but there has been no stock on offer.
Berger Paints traded 95,000 shares at $4.45, Ciboney Group had 292,937 units trading at 20 cents, Consolidated Bakeries had trading in 122,036 units at $1.70, Supreme Ventures saw trading in 271,187 units at $4.65, JMMB Group 7.50% preference share had 92,900 units changing hands at $1.04 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 490,000 units at $2.10.
Trading resulted in activity in 27 securities, accounting for a volume of 1,812,598 units as 13 stocks gained and 7 declined. The average number of shares traded amounts to 67,133 units compared to an average of a mere 18,121 units on Friday.
After 80 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Monday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 1,001.93 points to 174,155.13, the JSE Market Index rose 895.88 points to 154,265.97, the JSE combined index gained 937.64 points, to 164,423.18 and the junior market index dropped 10.39 points to 2,137.92.

Grace Kennedy hit a new 52 weeks’ high of $102 but with only 502 shares trading and gained $2 in the process, but now has a bid to buy 7,000 units at $103. With the exception of trading in 1 million units of 
Caribbean Flavours at $8 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share with 312,000 units changing hands at $2.11, volumes were light on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, in the early morning session on Friday.
Trading resulted in activity in 28 securities, accounting for a volume of 1,571,599 units as 9 stocks gained and 9 declined. The average number of shares traded is just 56,129 units compared to an average of a mere 18,121 units on Thursday.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Friday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 1,650.04 points to 172,786.13, the JSE Market Index rose 1,475.40 points to 155,543.42, the JSE combined index gained 1,621.07 points, to 166,060.64 and the junior market index rose 24.61 points to 2,123.04.
More records fall on JSE – Thursday
More records fell in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange in the early morning session on Thursday with very low volumes passing through the market as Grace Kennedy hit $95 with a rise of $3 following strong first quarterly results and Palace Amusement jumped $55 to $150 while trading 1,950 units.
Elsewhere, Caribbean Cream rose 53 cents in trading 200,000 shares at $5, with the stock being offered just below 150,000 units to sell. Lasco Manufacturing fell to $4 with 41,100 shares traded and Honey Bun dropped $3.95 to $18 with 10,000 shares.
Trading resulted in activity in 31 securities, accounting for a small volume of 561,740 units as 10 stocks gained and 9 declined. The average number of shares traded is just 18,121 units compared to an average of a mere 21,557 units on Wednesday.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Thursday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 1,075.15 points to 171,357.47, the JSE Market Index rose 961.36 points to 154,265.97, the JSE combined index gained 410.07 points, to 164,423.18 and the junior market index dropped 46.97 points to 2,078.93.
JSE makes early trading gains
In Jamaica Stock Exchange trading in the early morning session on Wednesday all main market indices rose robustly as investors started trading across a wide number of securities but with muted volumes but with two main market stocks trading at new 52 weeks’ high.
Trading resulted in activity in 28 securities, accounting for a mere 603,583 units as 17 stocks gained and 5 declined. The average number of shares traded is just 21,557 units compared to an average of 40,087 units on Tuesday.
Grace Kennedy traded just 522 shares at a 52 weeks’ high of $91.66 and so did Jamaica Producers Group that traded 76,038 shares up to a new 52 weeks’ high of $40. Palace Amusement could also trade at a new high with the bid at $140 to buy 500 shares. Elsewhere, Supreme Ventures traded 104,250 shares at $5, Caribbean Cream traded 80,555 shares at $4.47 and Lasco manufacturing traded 72,600 shares at $4.35.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Wednesday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 775.66 points to 169,667.10, the JSE Market Index rose 693.56 points to 152,754.51, the JSE combined index gained 942.52 points, to 163,474.62 and the junior market index rose 29.17 points to 2,123.15.
Moderate JSE trading Thursday
Trading levels have been moderate in the early Thursday morning session on the Jamaica Stock Exchange with a fall in the average number of securities trading after 75 minutes of the market’s opening compared with the levels on Wednesday. 
The volume traded dropped sharply compared the the amount traded on Wednesday.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Thursday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 69.79 points to 170,983.33, the JSE Market Index rose 62.40 points to 153,931.43, the JSE combined index gained 139.33 points, to 164,627.66 and the junior market index rose 7.94 points to 2,129.12.
No trade accounted for 100,000 units or more with Barita Investments coming closest as the price fell 45 cents to $3.05 while trading 90,700 shares.
Trading resulted in activity in 25 securities, accounting for a mere 382,827 units versus 3,602,821 shares changing hands on Wednesday as 13 stocks gained and 6 declined. The average number of shares traded is just 15,313 units compared to an average of 128,672 units on Wednesday.
Trading up on JSE – Wednesday
Trading levels picked up the early Wednesday morning session on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with an increased with the average number of securities trading almost doubling after 75 minutes of the market’s opening. The volume traded also increased well over the amount traded on Tuesday by 69 percent.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Wednesday, the all Jamaica Composite Index 
fell 175.88 points to 170,239.89, the JSE Market Index declined by 157.27 points to 153,266.67, the JSE combined index fell 150.58 points, to 164,103.91 and the junior market index lost 0.46 points to 2,138.18.
Stocks traded with 100,000 units or more include, Cable & Wireless traded 328,761 shares at $1.26, Caribbean Cement with 501,000 shares at $27, Carreras with 109,992 units at $64 and 138 Student Living 1,991,000 units at $4.50, in the junior market, General Accident Insurance with 132,318 shares at $2 and Lasco Financial Services with 106,630 units at $3.40.

JSE majors make big gains – Tuesday
Trading levels picked up the early Tuesday morning session on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with an increased number of securities trading after 75 minutes of the market’s opening leading to a sharp rise in the main market indices. The volume traded also increased well over the amount traded on Monday.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Tuesday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 1,498.66 points compared to the 2,035.21 points rise on Monday to 171,721.71, the JSE Market Index gained 1,340.05 points versus 1,819.80 points rise on Monday, to 154,591.66, the JSE combined index was up 831.40 while on Monday it rose by 1,726.04 points, to 165,354.68 and the junior market index dropped 40.14 points to 2,140.29.
Stocks traded with 100,000 units or more include, Cable & Wireless traded 122,614 shares at $1.48, followed by 1834 Investments with 118,100 at $1, Jamaica Producers had 185,220 units changing hands at $34.93 in response to an announcement of a bonus issue of shares to be put the Annual General meeting, Supreme Ventures 301,751 shares at $4.60, Caribbean Cream 208,688 at $4.60 and Lasco Distributors 705,698 shares down to $6.50.
Trading resulted in activity in 31 securities, accounting for 2,131,446 shares changing hands as 12 stocks gained and 9 declined. The average number of shares traded is 68,756 units compared to an average of 21,330 units on Monday.
Pan Jam & Grace at new highs – Monday
Grace Kennedy and Pan Jamaican Investment traded at new 52 weeks’ high in the early morning session on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with Grace hitting $90 following impressive first quarter results
and Pan Jamaican traded as high as $130 but traded later at $125 in continued reaction to the company’s announced 5 fro 1 stock split, on a morning session of moderate trading.
The gains in the two stocks helped to push the main market indices up sharply by more than 1 percent.

JSE up in morning session – Thursday
Trading started off slowly in the early morning session on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, on Thursday, with no junior market shares trading after half an hour of the market’s opening while only nine stocks traded in the main market up to that point. Trading activity resulted in the market indices rising.
After 75 minutes of trading in the early morning session, on Thursday, the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 138.19 points to 168,232.48, the JSE Market Index gained 123.56 points to 151,471.73, the JSE combined index was up 149.19 points to 162,860.87 and the junior market index gained just 3.37 points to 2,179.32.
Stocks traded more than 100,000 units are, Cable & Wireless with 949,000 units, Scotia Group with 103,752 shares, Proven Investments traded 554,302 ordinary shares at 17.02 US cents.
Pan Jamaican Investment traded at a new 52 weeks’ high of $99 with 2,000 shares trading, the highest bid for the stock is at $100.01 to buy 8,500 units.
