The value of stocks trading on Tuesday, surged 71 percent to $49,668,632 from $29,073,282 on Monday as the volume changing hands fell 61 percent to 1,087,460, from 2,767,419 units on Monday, with the day’s activity leading to a fall in the market indices at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, eighteen securities traded, down from 22 on Monday, with three rising, four declining and eleven ending unchanged. The Composite Index declined 4.78 points to 1,387.87, the All T&T Index slipped 3.96 points to 1,903.26 and the Cross-Listed Index fell 0.79 points to settle at 117.21.
An average of 60,414 shares traded on Tuesday for $2,759,368 compared to 125,792 units at $1,321,513 on Monday. The average trade for the month to date amounts to 47,288 units at $745,707 up from 46,601 units at $640,341. Trading for May averaged 25,935 units at $406,593.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with lower offers.
At the close, Agostini’s traded 457,668 shares at $24.50, Angostura Holdings traded 185 stocks at $16.49, Ansa Mcal ended at $57 after an exchange of 8,000 shares, Calypso Macro Investment Fund traded 120 stock units at $16.50. Clico Investment Fund lost 9 cents to end at $26.90 trading 75 shares, First Citizens Bank declined 40 cents to $50, with 1,840 units changing hands, FirstCaribbean International Bank declined 19 cents to $6.21 after trading 3,672 shares, 
Grace Kennedy remained at $5.35, with 2,245 stock units crossing the exchange. Guardian Holdings fell $1.19 to $33.50, after swapping 3,741 shares, JMMB Group popped 2 cents to $1.90, with 30,394 shares clearing the market, Massy Holdings remained at $80 in an exchange of 270,803 stock units. National Flour Mills ended at $2.10 after an exchange of 6,287 units, NCB Financial Group exchanged 16,000 shares at $7.99, Prestige Holdings advanced 24 cents to $6.99, trading 15 units. Republic Financial Holdings rose 1 cent to $135.08 after 1,823 units crossed the market, Scotiabank remained at $57, with 269,805 shares changing hands, Trinidad & Tobago NGL ended at $17.30 in trading 9,787 units. Unilever Caribbean traded 5,000 stocks at $16.33.
