Thursday ended on the main market stocks of the Jamaica Stock Exchange with the All Jamaica Composite Index crossing the 270,000 mark for the first time in jumping 1,819.13 points to close at a 3rd consecutive record, at 270,420.65. The JSE Market Index surged 1,657.43 points to a 5th consecutive record close, of 246,383.83.
The JSE US dollar market index lost 12.74 points to close at 188.43 with 2 securities trading in the US dollar market, including one preference share. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 135,953 units valued at US$37,081.
At the close of trading, 26 securities changed hands in the main market, leading to 13 stocks advancing and 9 declining and the price of one stock in the US dollar market fell.
