Mixed trading day for Trinidad Exchange

Stocks ended a day with mixed results on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 52 percent valued 74 percent lower than on Wednesday, resulting in 15 securities trading up from 13 on Wednesday and ending with prices of four rising, five declining and six ending firm.
The market closed following trading of 259,851 shares valued $1,217,796 down from 544,026 stock units at $4,707,253 on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 17,323 shares that changed hands at $81,186 compared with 41,848 stock units at $362,096 on Wednesday, with trading month to date averaging 56,781 shares at $403,280 compared with 61,840 stocks at $444,574 on the previous day and an average for September of 19,319 shares at $151,318.
The Composite Index popped 4.65 points to end at 1,048.30, the All T&T Index dropped 8.61 points to settle at 1,566.86, the SME Index remained at 88.01 and the Cross-Listed Index gained 2.64 points to wrap up trading at 69.05.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows five stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Agostini’s dropped $1 to $62.50 after investors traded 809 stocks, Angostura Holdings remained at $16.50 after trading 50 units, Calypso Macro Investment Fund ended at $24 with 100 shares crossing the exchange. First Citizens Group rallied 2 cents and ended at $40.43 with a transfer of 8,981 stock units, FirstCaribbean International Bank increased 54 cents to finish at $7.04 after an exchange of 205 shares, Guardian Holdings sank $1.05 to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $13 with 3,109 stock units changing hands. JMMB Group remained at $1.05 with investors trading 93,500 units, Massy Holdings skidded 17 cents to finish at $3.55 after a transfer of 149,745 stocks, One Caribbean Media ended at $3.23 with investors swapping 300 shares. Prestige Holdings ended at $10.50 in an exchange of 330 stock units, Republic Financial climbed $1.85 in closing at $111.90 with investors dealing in 329 units, Scotiabank fell 60 cents to $56.40 and closed with an exchange of 1,122 stocks. Trinidad & Tobago NGL shed 2 cents to $4.98 with investors trading 200 shares, Unilever Caribbean remained at $10.50 with an exchange of 225 stocks and West Indian Tobacco rose 40 cents to end at $7.40 with 846 units crossing the market.
