Trading drops on Trinidad Exchange

Trading dipped lower on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday from yesterday’s level, with 42 percent less volume of stocks traded, with the value declining 72 percent compared with that on Wednesday and resulting in the trading of 13 securities down from 18 on Wednesday, with four stocks rising, four declining and five remaining unchanged.
Investors traded 666,325 shares for $8,724,268 down from 1,149,714 stock units at $30,724,911 on Wednesday.
An average of 51,256 units were exchanged at $671,098 compared to 63,873 shares at $1,706,940 on Wednesday. Trading month to date averages 68,018 shares at $573,648 compared to 69,046 units at $567,672 on the previous day. The average trade for October amounts to 29,755 at $358,068.
The Composite Index fell 3.33 points to 1,314.30, the All T&T Index dipped 0.63 points to 1,976.38 and the Cross-Listed Index declined 0.87 points to settle at 84.80.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
At the close, Clico Investment Fund rallied 10 cents to close at $30 with a transfer of 110,995 shares, First Citizens Group advanced 1 cent to end at $50.01 in switching ownership of 368 units, GraceKennedy ended at $4.79 after 199 stock units were traded. Guardian Holdings climbed 16 cents to $25.77 after 9,039 stocks crossed the market, JMMB Group shed 2 cents in closing at $1.95 after exchanging 224 shares, Massy Holdings dipped 5 cents to $4.35 after trading 227,653 units. National Enterprises increased 4 cents to end at $3.25 after a transfer of 38,044 shares, National Flour Mills remained at $1.60 in an exchange of 280 stocks, NCB Financial dipped 14 cents to $4.56 while exchanging 89,000 shares. One Caribbean Media ended at $3.69 with 27,900 units changing hands, Scotiabank remained at $77.80 and closed after an exchange of 12,731 stock units, Trinidad & Tobago NGL dropped $1.47 to $20.50 with the swapping of 121,892 stocks and Trinidad Cement ended at $3.92 with an exchange of 28,000 stocks.
