Trading drops on the JSE USD Market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market closed on Thursday, with a 59 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded with a 15 percent lower value than on Wednesday, resulting in the exchange of three securities, compared to five on Wednesday with prices of one rising, two declining.
The market closed with an exchange of 143,387 shares for US$6,984 compared to 348,410 units at US$8,206 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 47,796 shares at US$2,328 compared to 69,682 stocks at US$1,641 on Wednesday, with a month to date average of 67,328 shares at US$3,761 compared with 68,630 units at US$3,856 on the previous day and September that ended with an average of 161,382 stock units for US$5,462.
The US Denominated Equities Index added 0.30 points to wrap up trading at 222.16.
The PE Ratio, one of the best known measures used to determine appropriate stock values, averages 6.8. The PE ratio is calculated based on last traded prices divided by projected earnings, computed by ICInsider.com for companies with financial year ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close of trading, First Rock Real Estate USD share declined 0.01 of a cent to 3.3 US cents with investors swapping 649 stock units, Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share shed 1.5 cents to close at 5.5 US cents after trading 117,093 shares and Transjamaican Highway increased 0.02 of a cent to end at 2.03 US cents in trading 25,645 stocks.
