Trading declines on the JSE USD Market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market closed on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 12 percent with a 72 percent lower value than on Friday, resulting in an exchange of four securities, down from eight on Friday with prices of one rising, two declining and one ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 46,461 shares for US$5,650 compared to 52,878 units at US$20,354 on Friday.
Trading averaged 11,615 shares at US$1,412 compared to 6,610 stocks at US$2,544 on Friday, with a month to date average of 178,834 shares at US$5,236 compared with 185,591 units at US$5,391 on the previous day and August that ended with an average of 297,880 stocks for US$8,245.
The US Denominated Equities Index gained 3.61 points to finish at 232.04.
The PE Ratio, one of the most used measures to determine appropriate stock values, averages 7.4. The PE ratio is calculated based on last traded prices divided by projected earnings, computed by ICInsider.com for companies with financial year ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
At the close, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy dipped 3 cents to finish at 54 US cents and closed with 109 stock units changing hands, Sygnus Real Estate Finance USD share remained at 6 US cents after an exchange of 2,548 units and Transjamaican Highway rallied 0.02 of a cent to 2.17 US cents with a transfer of 43,304 shares.
In the preference segment, Sygnus Credit Investments US 8% fell 99.9 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ low of US$9.001 with 500 stock units clearing the market.
