Trading activity fell back on Wednesday

Trading levels on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange fell on Wednesday in sharp contrast to prior days. The number of securities traded was 11 versus 20 on Tuesday with 3 stocks advancing, 2 declining and 6 holding firm.
A total of 40,355 shares were exchanged at a value of $222,744 compared to Tuesday’s 1,018,095 shares valued at $6,250,438.
The Composite Index fell 0.64 points to 1,223.47, the All T&T Index gained 0.06 points to 1,802.73 and the Cross Listed Index lost 0.19 points to close at 86.37.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer ended with 5 stocks with bids higher than last selling prices and 4 with lower offers.
Gains| Guardian Holdings gained 5 cents to close at $15.80 with trades of 5,000 shares, JMMB Group closed at $1.30, with gains of 2 cents while exchanging 15,215 shares and Point Lisas advanced 12 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $4, with an exchange of 150 shares.
Losses| NCB Financial Group closed at $3.95, with a loss of 4 cents trading 14,000 shares and One Caribbean Media closed at $16.60, losing 20 cents with 700 shares changing hands.
Firm Trades| Clico Investment traded a mere 44 shares at $22.51, National Flour Mills closed at $2.47, with an exchange of 1,000 shares, Republic Financial Holdings exchanged 325 shares at $101.85. Trinidad Cement traded 3,823 shares at $4.20, Trinidad & Tobago NGL held firm at $22 trading 45 shares and Unilever Caribbean closed at $53.51, with trades of 53 shares.
