The Ghana Stock Exchange closed marginally lower at the end of the week ending July 18, with the main Ghana Stock Exchange composite closing at 2,332.62, compared with 2,365.72 the week before, the second week of decline.
The Ghana Financial sector index closed slightly down, at 2,146.34 from 2,144.52 points close of the week before. For the week, 2.2 million units traded as more stocks declined than rose, with only 5 stocks closing higher and 10 declining. Guinness Ghana <Breweries with a 17 percent decline was the only stock with a major price change. At the close of trading for the week, of the 38 securities listed, there were bids to buy only 17 while there were offers to sell 26 of them.

Even though the GSE has experienced some losses this year, recent surges shows that it is starting to pick itself up. It may not be able to meet the expectations of investors for the this year, as many had predicted, but there are surely happy days ahead! Thanks. We have been watching it although not reporting on it recently. Saw that things picked up somewhat but with FX depreciation seeming to exceed the gains so far. but you are correct there is gold in the future.
