NCB Financial jumped $3.75 on Friday to push marekt up sharply.
The Jamaica Stock Exchange had one of its biggest index movement in the main market on Friday as a big jump in the profit of NCB Financial Group pushed the stock sharply thus helping to spike the market.
At the closed on Friday 27 securities changed hands as 14 stocks advanced and 7 declined. There was no trading in the US dollar market

The All Jamaica Composite Index jumped 7,046.25 points to close at 253,995.90 the JSE Market Index surged 6,419.93 points to finish at 231,419.04 and the JSE US dollar market index remained at 219 points.

10 TOP stocks for 2017 back ground
C&W could be 2017 top stock from the main market.
Technical indicators show that both the main and junior markets broke through major resistance levels and seem poised to reach new highs with the all Jamaica composite index seeming poised to hit 290,000 points and around 3,400 points for the junior market index before the year is out.
Projected earnings for 2017, and what now appears to be rising PE ratios, suggest the possibility of a much bigger move ahead for the local stocks.
While the junior market seems to be in the clear to move on to 3,400 before any major resistance, the same is not the case for the main market. The latter is only a few thousand points from a major resistance that has it genesis in 1992 with the major resistance in 2005. This coming week will be a big test. Friday’s initial pull back in the morning session and push back of National Commercial Bank, Scotia Group and PanJam Investment may be early signs that we may be at a tough region presently.
Treasury bill rates are set to decline this year, against the background of stability in the Jamaican dollar, with strong inflows of foreign currency into the system and low inflation. Here technical indicators are pointing to 192 Treasury bill rates going to 4.5 percent, with it reaching around 5 percent late this year or early next year and the lower level in 2018.
With low rates, more funds would be flowing into the stock market driving up valuations, with indications that the current prices for a number of stocks suggest could put PEs around 20 time earnings. Added to this, a look at orders for the majority of stocks indicates a chronic shortage of supply of stocks for sale. The implications, with the majority of stocks priced around 10 times 2017 earnings or less should result in a sharp increase in prices that would take both markets well beyond where technical indicators suggest, in the next few months.
Company expansion| The best rate of growth in the economy for years is expected to continue, with prospects of 2.5 to 3 percent seemingly on the cards for 2017. Against this background, most companies appear set to benefit with increased sales. The real big gainers should come from those companies that are undergoing expansion. They will have a double benefit, that from the pickup in economic activity and from the expansion.
Then there are those companies that will benefit from lower interest rates and pick up in stock market activity. Investors would be wise not to see bullishness in stock prices as a prelude to increased instant profits in all cases. An example is the Jamaica Stock Exchange, while the market is exhibiting a high level of bullishness, it is not translating into high volumes and value in the daily trades as yet. In the peak of the market in 2014, the JSE traded $50 billion currently, the level is running around $35 billion annualised. Last year in the first quarter, the JSE earned a big increase in fees as a result of the Desnoes & Geddes share trade. This year, there is no such a transaction expected in the quarter. Later on, the stock exchange is likely to benefit from increased trading levels as well as increased listings in 2017, with the latter also helping to increase the volume of stocks trading.
There are companies that will benefit considerably from cash provided by operations that will be used to generate increased business. This is most applicable for the smaller junior market companies. Jamaican stocks in record climb
A fall of $4.98 in the price of National Commercial Bank (NCB) to $61.01 was not enough to do much damage to the main market indices in the morning session on Thursday, as a number of other stocks hit 52 weeks’ highs in trading.
Stocks trading at new highs include Jamaica Producers at $16.50, Mayberry Investments at $5.97, Scotia Group at $41, PanJam Investment at $34 and Sagicor Group at $33 and in the junior market Blue Power Group at $41, Consolidated Bakeries at $3.60 and in the US market Margaritaville Turks hit 29 US cents and Proven Investments at 25 US cents.
All major markets indices hit new records during the morning session but with moderate trading taking place. The all Jamaica Composite Index raced 3,590.01 points to 239,523.12 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index surged 3,210.11 points to 218,550.79, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index jumped 3,189.0 points to 232,324.56 and the junior market index jumped 20.67 points to 2,885.60.

AJI jumps 5,396 points to record 207,585 – Wednesday
Pan Jam Investment jumped $2.50 to a new high of $29.50 in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, on Wednesday, after the market opened having been closed for the holidays and helped the main market indices to surge by 4,047 points 
on the all Jamaica Composite index at 10:45.
At 11:40 the strong> all Jamaica Composite Index surged by 5,395.82 points to 207,585.48, the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index jumped 4,824.83 points to an all-time high of 189,992.90, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index 4,426.36 points to a record high of 202,377.86 and the junior market index fell 4.65 to 2,548.52.

Slight fall for JSE on Tuesday
The Jamaica Stock exchange main market indices temporarily broke the winning streak with minor declines on Tuesday with the All Jamaica Composite Index slipping 37.23 points to end at 194,885.44. The JSE Market Index lost 33.30 points to finish at a record closing high of 178,324.34.
The JSE combined index fell 59.59 points to end at 190,169.62 with a gain for the year to date of 20 percent. Trading ended with only 33 securities trading. The prices of 11 stocks gained while 7 declined in the overall market, including 3 stocks rising and 3 falling, in the junior market.
At the close with 1,218,248 units valued at $9,074,534 changed hands, compared to 4,243,795 units valued at $24,651,644 changing hands on Monday. The junior market accounted for 918,920 units changing hands, valued at $5,225,495 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 16,629 shares and 253,298 units month to date. On Monday, an average of 31,898 units traded and for the month to date, 489,966 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.

National Commercial Bank gained 5 cents and ended at $50.05 with 4,788 shares trading, PANJAM Investment traded 5,514 units at $24.50 after gaining 50 cents, Radio Jamaica lost 5 cents in trading 5,042 units to close at $1.30. Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 12,048 units with the price rising 1 cent to $10.26 and Scotia Group rose 29 cents with 16,400 shares changing hands to close at $32.
