Another market topping day for Mailpac

For a second consecutive day, Mailpac Group commanded the lion’s share of the day’s trade on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, accounting for 91 percent of the shares exchanged on Wednesday, up a bit from 90 percent on Tuesday when 44.22 million shares traded. 

MailPac traded 14.2 million shares to dominate Junior Market trading.

Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands, down from 38 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 11 rising, 14 declining and 9 closed unchanged.
The Junior Market Index lost 3.76 points to end at 2,519.00 and the average PE Ratio ended at 12.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 213 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday, with an exchange of 15,670,241 shares or $34,936,702 down from 49,121,788 units at $110,386,381 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group had a second day trading a large number of shares and ended leading trading for a second day with 14.26 million shares, followed by Jamaican Teas with 4.2 percent of the day’s trade or 665,663 units and Lasco Financial with 0.6 percent market share with an exchange of 90,062 units.
Trading averaged 460,889 units at $1,027,550 in contrast to 1,292,679 at $2,904,905 on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade is 381,049 units at $858,170, compared to 367,408 units at $829,230 on Tuesday. November closed with an average traded of 193,331 units at $566,885.

Caribbean Cream dipped 12 cents to $4.03, trading 6,070 units, Caribbean Producers rose 7 cents to $2.70 with a transfer of 11,390 stock units, Consolidated Bakeries dropped 28 cents to $1.12 with an exchange of 30 shares. Lumber Depot slipped 2 cents to $1.18 with a transfer of 86,618 stocks, Mailpac Group traded 14,262,739 shares and gained 6 cents to settle at $2.25, Main Event shed 25 cents to close at $3 with 6,366 units passing through the market. Medical Disposables fell 12 cents to $4.02  with an exchange of 29,098 stock units, Paramount Trading advanced 18 cents to $1.52 with 73,494 shares changing hands, SSL Venture rose 3 cents to 56 cents with a transfer of 500 stocks and Stationery and Office Supplies gained 10 cents to end at $4.10 with 2,954 units crossing the exchange.

Junior Market Stumbles Friday

More stocks fell than rose as 48 percent fewer shares were traded than on Thursday, and helping in driving the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange to close down on Friday after the market moved higher in the morning session.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands compared to 29 on Thursday and concluded with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 16 declining and six remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index shot up to 2,540.66 points after an hour and three-quarters of trading and later plummeted more than 44 points to close at 2,496.22, after a decline of 9.44 points from the close on Thursday. The average PE Ratio ended at 13.2 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with 3,764,642 shares trading for $7,764,562 compared to 7,231,212 units at  $17,420,235 on Thursday. Jamaican Teas led trading with 34 percent of the day’s volume after a transfer of 1.28 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 24.1 percent with an exchange of 909,101 units and Mailpac Group with 12.3 percent or 463,285 shares.
Trading averaged 114,080 units at $235,290 in contrast to 249,352 at $600,698 on Thursday. The month to date averaged 160,524 units at $366,841, compared to 176,657 units at $412,538 on Thursday. November ended with an average of 193,331 units at $566,885.

Rise in Junior Market stopped

After four consecutive days of increases, the Junior Market index finally gave way on Wednesday but not without a move higher in the morning session. Trading ended with the majority of stocks rising after an exchange of 47 percent fewer shares with a 50 percent fall in the consideration, compared to Tuesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 15 stocks rising, seven declining and nine remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index dropped 16.98 points to 2,504.35after it traded as high as 2,546,04 points after 41 minutes of trading. The average PE Ratio ended at 13.2 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 3,050,027 shares for $6,670,693 compared to 6,501,187 units at $15,100,161 on Tuesday. Jamaican Teas led trading with 32.8 percent of total volume, after a transfer of 1.0 million shares followed by Mailpac Group with 24.9 percent for 759,011 units and Lumber Depot with 12 percent market share amounting to 365,322 units.

The market index rose to more than 2,556 points within an hour of trading on Wednesday but selling drove the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange down at the close, with the market index dropping nearly 100 points from the day’s peak to finish with a loss for the day of 70.49 points to settle at 2,459.43.
Trading ended with more stocks declining than rising after an exchange of 33 percent more shares than on Tuesday. Rising stocks edged out declining ones in trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, leading the market close with a moderate gain in the index, with 24 percent more shares exchanged than on Friday.
Trading ended with 37 companies changing hands compared to 31 on Friday and concluded with the prices of 17 stocks rising, prices of 16 falling and four with prices ending unchanged.

Modest gains eked out by Junior Market

Junior Market stocks rose to 2,580.21 within an hour of trading opening at the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, but the market retreated and closed with a modest gain after more stocks declined than rose as investors traded 44 percent more shares than on Thursday.
The Market Index gained 4.03 points to settle at 2,537.29 and the market closed with an average PE Ratio of 12.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 31 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Thursday, ending with the prices of nine stocks rising, 13 declining and nine remaining unchanged.

Junior Market slips on Thursday

Rising stocks price were equal to declining stocks at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the market slipping for a second consecutive day and resulted in the Market Index falling 8.55 points to settle at 2,533.26.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 34 on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 11 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. At the close, the average PE Ratio ended at 12.7 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with 17 percent more shares trading than on Wednesday after 3,353,944 shares changed hands for  $7,247,408, 21 percent higher than the $5,973,152 allowing for the trading of 2,855,958 units on Wednesday. Jetcon Corporation led trading with 38.9 percent of total volume with 1.31 million shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 17.5 percent of the day’s trade with a transfer of 588,526 units and Mailpac Group with 13.3 percent market share or 446,042 units.
Trading ended with an average of 104,811 units at $226,481 in contrast to 83,999 at $175,677 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 202,892 units at $564,142, compared to 210,208 units at $589,328 on Wednesday. October averaged 230,868 units at $535,509 for each traded security.

Elite Diagnostic declined 1 cent to $3.10 with 15,000 stocks passing through the market, Everything Fresh increased by 3 cents to 73 cents trading 22,181 shares, Express Catering rose 2 cents to $3.76  with a transfer of 450 units. Fontana advanced 10 cents to finish at $5.30 with 65,496 stocks changing hands, Fosrich gained 6 cents to settle at $3.99 with an exchange of 17,225 units, Indies Pharma climbed 15 cents to close at $2.75 with 7,016 shares passing through the market. Jamaican Teas lost 20 cents to end at $6.15 with 275,731 units traded, Knutsford Express shed 67 cents to finish at $6.03 with investors switching ownership of 17,304 stocks, Lasco Distributors fell 14 cents to $3.15 with 5,000 units changing hands. Lasco Manufacturing lost 2 cents and traded 47,576 shares to close at $3.79, Limners and Bards advanced 11 cents to $2.59 with a transfer of 17,900 stocks, Lumber Depot gained 8 cents to finish at $1.25 with 4,477 shares changing hands. Mailpac Group exchanged 446,042 units and slipped 1 cent to settle at $2.17, Main Event jumped 50 cents to close at $3.49 with a mere 331 shares passing through the market and Medical Disposables lost 10 cents to end at $4.40 with 1,316 stocks crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% fell 15 cents to settle at 99 cents with 24,902 units changing hands.

Six weeks high for Junior Market

Junior Market stocks hit their highest point since the second day of October and August 26th when the market index gained 21.49 points to close on Tuesday at 2,561.47, just slightly lower than the 2,564.59 points closing high in July and 2,567.42 at the October high.  
Trading concluded on Tuesday with the market rising after more stocks rose than fell as investors exchanged nine percent more shares than on Monday. The market closed with 30 securities changing hands down from 35 on Monday and ended with the prices of 14 stocks rising, eight declining and eight closed unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 4,533,956 shares for $12,319,152 compared to 4,145,851 units at $14,021,504 on Monday. Mailpac Group led trading with 28 percent of total volume with 1.27 million shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 21.1 percent for 956,492 units and Lasco Distributors with 14.1 percent or 641,535 shares.
The average trade ended with at 151,132 units at $410,638 in contrast to 118,453 at $400,614 on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade ended with 221,072 units at $624,934, versus 226,820 units at $642,547 on Monday. October ended with an average of 230,868 units at $535,509 trading.

Fontana gained 13 cents to end at $5.39 with an exchange of 136,602 shares, General Accident climbed 28 cents to $6.48 while exchanging 2,267 stock units, Honey Bun slipped 1 cent to $4.80 with 251,267 units changing hands. iCreate lost  5 cents to close at 60 cents with investors switching ownership of 5,000 shares, Jamaican Teas jumped 50 cents to finish at $6 with 443,012 units passing through the market, ahead of the company shareholders approving a  three for one stock split to take effect on November 30. Knutsford Express advanced 20 cents to $6.80 with an exchange of 100,825 shares, Lasco Distributors traded 641,535 stocks and gained 20 cents to finish at $3.29, Lasco Financial added 4 cents to close at $2.64 with 129,948 units changing hands. Lasco Manufacturing fell 6 cents to $3.99 with a transfer of 8,098 shares. Limners and Bards increased by 1 cent to $2.46 with 17,675 stock units changing hands, Lumber Depot lost 5 cents and exchanged 956,492 stocks to settle at $1.15, Mailpac Group traded 1,267,356 shares and rose 1 cent to close at $2.20 and Medical Disposables advanced 40 cents to finish at $4.67 with 2,000 shares crossing the exchange.

Junior Market inches higher

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Monday with the market rising after more stocks rose than declined with 67 percent fewer shares trading than on Friday.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Friday and closed with 14 stocks rising, 10 declining and 11 remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 7.63 points to settle at 2,539.98. The average PE Ratio ends at 12.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,145,851 shares for 14,021,504 compared to 12,631,994 units at $33,900,773 on Friday. Lasco Manufacturing led trading with 37.8 percent of total volume and accounting for 1.57 million shares, followed by Fontana with 14.1 percent for 586,470 units and Mailpac Group with 10.9 percent for 452,407 shares.
Trading ended with an average of 118,453 units at $400,614, in contrast to 394,750 at $1,059,399 on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 226,798 units at $642,434, compared to 238,314 units at $668,207 on Friday. October ended with an average of 230,868 units at $535,509 trading.

Express Catering declined 23 cents to $3.51 while trading 6,570 units, Fontana gained 46 cents to finish at $5.26, after an exchange of 578,470 shares, General Accident lost 25 cents with 118,066 shares passing through the market to end at $6.20. GWest Corporation shed 19 cents to end at 70 cents, with 78,077 stock units changing hands, Honey Bun gained 1 cent to close at $4.81, in trading 18,840 shares, iCreate dipped 5 cents to 65 cents, with an exchange of 13,213 stock units. Lasco Distributors closed at $3.09, after gaining 8 cents in crossing the market with 57,600 shares, Lasco Financial lost 12 cents to end at $2.60 trading 5,000 units, Lasco Manufacturing added 8 cents to end at $4.05, with 1,565,343 shares passing through the market. Limners and Bards gained 3 cents to end at $2.45, trading 13,936 units, Mailpac Group lost 5 cents to close at $2.19, trading 452,407 shares, Medical Disposables rose 26 cents to $4.27, with 3,200 units changing hands. Paramount Trading gained 1 cent to end at  $1.49, after trading 17,089 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies lost 25 cents to settle at $4.30, in exchanging 29,000 stock units and Tropical Battery picked up 1 cent to end at $1.21, with 288,661 shares crossing the exchange.
