Big fall for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered a sharp fall in the Market Index at the close of trading on Tuesday as declining stocks overwhelmed advancing ones, even as the volume traded jumped 260 percent over Monday’s level.
Trading resulted in 30 securities changing hands compared to 29 on Monday and ended with the prices of just six stocks rising, 17 declining and seven with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index dropped by 51.57 points to finish at 2518.97, and the average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.6 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 6,810,921 shares for $19,234,566 compared to 1,894,386 units at $5,524,081 on Monday.
Caribbean Producers led trading with 2.56 million shares for 37.5 percent of total volume, followed by Lasco Manufacturing with 1.39 million units for 20.4 percent of the day’s trade and Mailpac Group with 1 million units for 14.8 percent market share.
An average of 227,031 units at $641,217 in contrast to an average of 65,324 at $190,486 on Monday. An average of 321,956 units at $873,181 for the month to date, in contrast to 328,413 units at $888,621. Trading in June resulted in an average of 245,049 units at $689,955 trading.

Junior Market enjoys big bounce

Prices mostly climbed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market ended trading with 29 securities changing hands, down from 33 on Friday, with the prices of 15 stocks rising, eight stocks declining and six with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index jumped 41.20 points to close at 2,570.54. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,894,386 shares for $5,524,081 compared to 1,842,894 units at $4,327,353 on Friday.
Indies Pharma led trading with 815,136 shares for 43 percent of total volume followed by Mailpac Group with 539,882 units for 28.5 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana 193,897 units for 10.2 percent market share.
An average of 65,324 units traded at $190,486 on Monday, in contrast to an average of 55,845 at $131,132 on Friday. An average of 328,413 units at $927,182 changed hands for the month to date, in contrast to 346,931 units at $937,761 on Friday. Junior Market just slips to close Friday

The Junior Market ended trading on Friday sharply lower activity than on Thursday as total volume plunged 68 percent below Thursday and the total dollar value slipping 24 percent as the number of securities changing hands rose from 28 to 33.
Trading ended with the prices of 10 stocks rising, the prices of 14 declining and nine remaining with prices unchanged.
The Junior Market Index slipped by just 0.53 points to close at 2,529.34 and is marginally down, compared to the close of the previous week. The average PE Ratio of the market dipped at 9.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,842,894 shares for $4,327,353 compared to 5,847,715 units at $16,656,620 on Thursday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 795,955 shares for 43 percent of total volume, followed by AMG Packaging with 394,514 units for 21.4 percent of the day’s trade and Caribbean Cream with 115,469 units for 6.3 percent market share.
The market closed with an average of 55,845 units at $131,132 trading, in contrast to an average of 208,847 at $594,879 on Thursday. The Junior Market Index tumbled on Friday with a drop of 63.94 points to end trading activities at 2,532.08 as declining stocks outpaced advancing ones 3 to 1.

Junior Market loses ground on Thursday

The Junior Market moved higher during early trading on Thursday, with the market Index hitting the 2620 points mark, but it failed to hang to the gains by the close to end with a fall of 14 points to end at 2596.02.
At the close, investors exchanged 6,245,390 shares for $15,597,349 from 33 securities compared to 22,898,027 units at $49,652,613 from 34 securities on Wednesday.
Trading ended with the prices of nine stocks rising, 13 declining and 11 closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Mailpac Group led trading with 2.8 million shares for 45 percent of total the volume followed by Indies Pharma with 1.13 million units for 18 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 798,698 units for 13 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 189,254 units at $472,647, in contrast to an average of 673,471 valued at $1,460,371 on Wednesday. Everything Fresh gained 9 cents in an exchange of 4,337 shares to settle at 75 cents, Fosrich shed 15 cents to close at $3.75 trading 8,810 units in the process, General Accident ended 1 cent higher at $7 with investors trading 121,951 shares. Honey Bun lost 8 cents to close at $5.50 in an exchange of 75,000 stock units, iCreate lost 1 cent to 54 cents trading 37,636 shares, Jamaican Teas lost 6 cents to close at $4.79 with 13,801 shares changing hands.  Jetcon Corporation advanced 7 cents to end at $1.08 in the transferring of 128,201 units,  Knutsford Express dropped $1.10 and exchanged 355,936 stock units to close at $6.80, Lasco Manufacturing shed 29 cents to end at $3.61 with 41,729 units crossing the exchange. Limners and Bards gained 3 cents to close at $2.50 with investors transferring 3,601 shares, Lumber Depot rose 3 cents to settle at $1.05 with investors trading 798,698 stock units, Mailpac Group exchanged 2,800,768 units to finish at $1.98 after rising 2 cents. Medical Disposables dropped 60 cents to close at $6.40 with the trading of 10,000 units and Stationery and Office Supplies dived 28 cents to end at $5.70 with 33,291 shares crossing the exchange.
In the junior market preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% gained 4 cents to finish at $1.20, with investors transferring 150 stock units and Derrimon Trading climbed 10 cents to close at $1.90 with 59,447 units changing hands.

Junior Market ekes out more gains – Wednesday

Within 20 minutes of opening on Wednesday, the Junior Market surged nearly 40 points to 2,640.89 points, but selling pressure of a few stocks gradually eroded the most of the early gains, leaving the Market Index in adding just 8.04 points for the day, to finish at 2610.02 with Mailpac accounting for more than 19 million shares.
Similar to Tuesday, when 34 securities changed hands, a similar number of stocks traded on Wednesday, with the prices of 14 stocks rising, nine declining and 11 stocks closing unchanged. The day ended with an exchange of 22,898,027 shares accounting for $49,652,613 compared to 21,554,761 units at $46,869,796 on Tuesday. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Mailpac Group led trading with 19.3 million shares for 84 percent of total volume followed by General Accident with 1.24 million units for 5.4 percent of the day’s trade and Everything Fresh with 498,073 units for 2 percent market share.
